Best Color For Links In Email?

I am working on my auto responders where I will be including links back to my sales page.

I have a pretty basic layout, just black text on white background. Currently I have the links red and bold.

I am curious if anyone has tested this or found that certain colors are better for getting people to click.

  • I've never tested it Alex.

It's widely accepted by almost everyone online that blue text usually means there's a link behind it.

Again though, I haven't tested different colours (not that I ever will)

      Same here.

I've never tested but I've always used blue. And, I usually make it a little darker than the automatic blue links get.

I tried a small test a few years ago and the standard blue link beat all other colors for me. I think that's because it's what people are used to seeing and they subconsciously know it's a link.

I have actually never tested that. Very good question. I normally just go with blue but I think it's what people are used to seeing (i know someone mentioned that above).
