The Free Report -- How to Deliver It?

Was thinking about just uploading the PDF to the site... and then giving the link. (Usual way, right?)

But I got to thinking... what if the person just sends out the link? Tweets it, shares it, whatever.

Clearly, that would be a great thing... as more people would get it (and maybe even some sales from the items I casually suggest in the report). However, all those people (in this hypothetical) would miss out on my squeeze page.

Is it better to have some sort of time activated link... like when you buy a ebook. Link is only active for a short while?

Or am I overthinking things (which I tend to do)?

Thanks!

That's a good approach. It's much better than sending it as an atachement, as some do. (A lot of emails with attachments end up in the Spam/Junk folder.)

You should be flattered, not concerned. If they are voluntarily sharing it, it means they loved it. Hint, hint: more likely to get sales from them.

However, you can add something like this in your ebook: "If you think your friends will benefit from this ebook, too, please invite them to subscribe, so not only will they get this ebook, but also all the great information we're going to cover in the future emails." Something to that extent, anyway.

Here's another idea. Why not re-design the squeeze page in such a way that you can include it inside the report? That way, your "squeeze-data" is displayed along with the report no matter how it's accessed or shared. If it's your own pdf file, re-working it should be easy. You can even put a submittable form inside of it.

Excellent suggestions, both of you. Thanks. Will probably do both... Remind the reader what they subscribed to and getting and tell them they can share with friends. Excellent!
