How to capture email addresses from banners

Hello All,

I want to build my list. I have a subscribe optin form on the site.

I would like to know if there is a way to scrub, intercept or otherwise capture an email address from people that click on one of my banners on my site. Is it done with a redirect of some kind? Is it possible? Is it considered black hat? Would the captured address do me any good, since the click was aimed at the vendor and not at me?

Thanks

Carlos

It's possible if you redirect to your landing page where you will ask for peoples email.
After they entered they email, you can lead them where you want.
If you offer a download, you can redirect them to your thank you page.
Or if you want you can redirect them to your affilliate offer.

    Cheers

If you want to use banner, i would try to use leadboxes that can pop up a squeeze page and sometimes the emails already pre-filled up and the lead just have to click subscribe and they are in your list.

Yes, just redirect them from the banner to your squeeze page. You can easily do this in Wordpress.

I think a popup would work better for collecting emails. Click-through rates on banners are pretty bad from my experience as a blogger.

For years I have resisted using pop-ups. I have given in. I think the stats outweigh the annoyance.

      Thanks, again
