The best FREE email copy writing training

Like a lot of people in the early days of my business, I was not at all confident of writing and sending my own mails. So I thought I would share with you the main strategy I used to become comfortable with the process. I hope it helps you as it helped me

1. Subscribe to as many lists as you can (in niches similar to the one you are working in is best).

2. Read all the emails you receive.

3. Unsubscribe from lists which send you mails that bore/annoy/anger you.

4. The mails that you do like, start consciously analyzing what you like about them. What makes them want to read them, what makes you want to click the links. Note down your findings.

At this point, you can do one of two things. If you are now confident about using the things you have learnt, you can jump straight in and start writing mails using the elements that made you like mails sent to you. The likelihood is that in the beginning they might not be that great, but as with anything, the more you do something, the better you become.

Alternatively, if like me, you still weren't 100% confident about writing your own mails, you need to give yourself a little help.

Most affiliate products now include swipe mails, or you can get packages that provide prewritten emails. However you are NOT going to send them as they are.

Use the mails as a starting point, and then amend the copy where you think applicable, to introduce your own 'style'.

What you will find is, the more you do this, the more confident you will become. The more comfortable you become, the more of your copy you include (and less of the original). Eventually you will become confident enough to just write your own mails from scratch.

(Please NOTE I am NOT saying you should steal other people's mails to use as your own!)

It worked for me and if you are serious about your success I think it can work for you.

Wishing you all the best on your online adventure

Yeah I think the OP had some good points.

There is really no set blueprint for writing email copy. Unlike traditional Sales Letter Copy, it is not as scientific where you follow certain guidelines.

That's why I love it so much.

You can use your Creativity and your own Style and apply it so as to make it very engaging and intriguing to your audience.

Some adopt personas like a comedian or a smart ass tough love type or just a no non sense authoritative type person,

Have fun with it and provide entertainment as well as helpful content... And do not skip on the helpful content ,
      please LOL

Its really wide open and you decide what you want to do and how you want to do it.

I think you make a VERY valid point, that there is no ONE best way to write emails. Just work on what fits best with you and your personality and run with it.

Never try to be all things to all men.

Being you might rub people up the wrong way, but what the hell, the ones that are left will have a real connection with you and therefore are far more likely to stay with you for the long haul.

If more people understood how important this really is, they'd do a lot better with email.

Thank you for sharing that information! This method really helped me out a lot because I sucked at making attention grabbing subject lines. I subscribed to about 5 different people under the same niche and I began to notice similarities.

I've even began to notice patterns in the emails that I clicked and this began to help form my copywriting skills along with how i make optin forms.

To take this another step further, I've been able to translate these techniques outside of internet marketing, into some of my other businesses.

Following points help me, when I write emails to my subscribers.

    - Having a general conversational style, like how would I be talking to my subscribers
    - Write with the perspective - what's in it for them.
    - Using some general copy-writing knowledge, like giving benefits/ features of the product
and try to bring out desires and pain points of the subscribers.

This is actually an awesome post man! I actually did this the other day and it amazes me how many marketers send the same generic emails. "This is closing soon!" "You have 24 hours left!"..it makes me wonder how they make money.

I'm really liking Michael Cheneys emails lately. His are always entertaining.
