How Do Aweber, Mailchimp, GR Treat Complaint Rates

When I initially signed up with aweber my complaint rates was high 3 in 1000.

I kept worrying I would get contacted by aweber but they never did. And I kept working to lower my complaint rate.

Now my overall rate is below 1 in 1000. And for the last month I am at 0.7 in 1000.

And now oddly enough aweber is contacting me. If I have a single email above 1 in 1000 I get contacted (I have been contacted twice).

I heard aweber doesn't care about the percent but cares about the total number of complaints. I kind of didn't believe that at the time. But it seems to be true from my experience

My question is do the either providers (mailchimp and GR) deal with complaints in the same way.

not sure does Aweber has this function or not... but for GetResponse... they have a 24 hours chat support, in case you need any help... you can look for them... thats what i always do when i encounter any issues in GetResponse...

  • Aweber and Getresponse use a shared service, they pool all their customers into same mail streams, in order to keep inboxing high they have to police their users with zero tolerance.
If you generate spam reports it can affect other peoples deliverability.
One out of a 1000 is a tiny amount but for those mail providers it can cause problems (because all users send on a shared service)
First thing i would recommend is looking at your mail sequence, and possibly putting unsub link at top of mail and page & ip they signed up on.

I guess my question is why did aweber not contact me when my complaint rate was 2 in 1000

And why are they contacting me now that my complaint rate is 0.7 in 1000.

    That seems backwards

They probably contacted you because they see high complaint rate over the time period.

Contact they support and ask what your complaint rate is for the autoresponder. It is very possible the issue stems from numbers over there.
