    AWeber hands down.

Their tracking abilities and data/recording keeping system is the best, and they it super easy to split test, and segment your lists.

      Hi,

I would recommend aweber, mail chimp is good if your starting out as a free tool, but your going to find as your list gets bigger aweber can help segment your list etc... plus awebers support is pretty good.

Mailchimp is tempting due to it being free up to the first 2000 subscribers, but Aweber by far has better link tracking and email management. The customer service in Aweber is also superior as it offers email support and phone support, whereas mailchimp offers only email support. Overall, I would recommend using Aweber over Mailchimp

You couldnt have said it better andorod77 and apart from that mailchimp Im told they are a bit funny when it comes to adding affiliate links to your email campaigns. Ive never tried them before I use only Aweber.

For newbies would you not recommend mail chimp and then swap over if the project becomes successfully?
After all its not often their first attempts will reach 2000 right away. I could be wrong?

I have been with Aweber and they have very nice features but now I am with Getresponse and I guess they have so many features than Aweber. I created account with Mailchimp but have not used it.

I personally use Aweber for collecting leads. I am satisfied with it. Maybe Aweber is a bit more expensive than other autoresponder services.

AWeber has over 120,000 users across the world, including small businesses, entrepreneurs, and bloggers, where as MailChimp It boasts over 7 million users who send 500 million emails every day. i would say go for mailchimp as it's easy to use and manage

If you're just starting out you might want to give Zoho campaigns a try. Free to begin like Mail Chimp but some more options. Neither of these free versions include autoresponding. The Zoho free version allows for 2000 subscribers with 12000 emails per month. The paid versions include a variety of monthly plans or pay as you go alternatives.

I use mailchimp personally, it's really easy to set up a newsletter and has some great features for changing the look of your photos and good layouts for people who aren't html savvy... never used Aweber, but it seems to be highly recommended.

Mailchimp, Only because of the 2000 limit and for newbies like me, Free is always great until you are able to sustain the prices with your income.... I'll let you know when that happens to me.

If you're just starting, I highly recommend MailChimp (because it's free!) to test the waters first.
Once you earn some money and can somehow make around $1000 per month, then switch to Aweber.

    Don't make the same mistake.
Several years ago, when I was still a newbie, I dived on Aweber quickly without knowing anything about email marketing first.
In short, I just burnt all my money lol.

Depend on your level and your budget, if you have a few subscribers and you are experimenting your best option is mailchimp, which is free, easy to use and very basic, but for professional performace, and managing thousands subscribers aweber is superior with impeccable customer service and efficient tools for your leads.

    Aweber or mailchimp?
Neither. There are much better solutions then either of these.

      • If those were the only 2 options I'd go with Aweber. It's very user friendly, and easy to understand. I personally user GetResponse.

If you have no plans doing affiliate marketing, I would go with MailChimp.

Because MailChimp doesn't allow affiliate marketers they keep a lot of spammers out of their way thus allowing them to have a better email sender reputation.

Otherwise I would look for other companies such as instant contact etc., they a little more expensive but from my personal experience going with the cheapest is never good if you plan to build a business out of an email marketing.

I have been using Aweber for a year and it works well for me. If you look for the professional autoresponder to be used in the long-term and the choices available are only these two, I would recommend Aweber.

What does it mean that MailChimp doesn't allow affiliate marketing? If I want to send out a newsletter that has some affiliate links, would that not be allowed, or is it just pure affiliate offers that are not allowed?
