The first thing to say is that you get what you pay for. Generally speaking while 'free' may sound appealing it often comes with hidden costs which could include lack of functionality or limitations which will be a hindrance later.

The next thing to consider is, do you want a self owned solution or a monthly solution? There are pros and cons to both types off autoresponder. The questions you need to ask yourself include:

What volume of signups do you expect?
How many times will you be mailing them and how often?
What type of business are you in?
Do you just want to send emails or do you want more functionality and capability to manage and segment your list(s) as you build them.
Do you need to integrate with third-party tools like accounts packages, ecommerce suites, split-testing services etc etc.

In general most of the replies will suggest monthly services such as Mailchimp, Active Campaign, Sendlane, AWeber and GetResponse personally I'd recommend *arpReach* a self owned/hosted solution that allows you to choose which email service provider (Amazon SES, SMTP.com, Mandrill, Sendgrid etc) you use to send your messages.

You get lots more flexibility and capability using arpReach and if one email service providor does ban you for any reason you simply change to a different provider.

All of your forms that you've put on websites will still work so you don't need to change them and as you own the list that you've built up there is no risk of it being taken from you. This means your income from list building and marketing will continue.

There's lots to be said for using a single payment self-owned autoresponder solution

      Never fooled with free ones.

Invest in yourself and your business and go with a reputable, paid one.

      I use Aweber

I am using cloudnet 360, they have an action link feature that I like. So when I include a video in my email, instead of the site url, I use the action link. I get good delivery rate.

GetResponse is the best and has one of the most competitive prices compared to what they have to offer. I really like the fact that they have NO problems with IM related niches. Now there are free ones like Listwire, but you'll have to take delivery rates into account when choosing free email marketing services. If you have a large list, it's much better to have a professional autoreponder do the work for you because emails will be delivered to their inbox more often than ending up in the spam folder - which is really what email marketing is all about!

I 100% recommend Infusionsoft due to it's advanced functionalities -- however it's rather pricey. So for a program when starting out, I would definitely recommend MailChimp. It's easy to learn, easy to get the fundamentals down pact and it gets the job done.

    Hope that helps!

Aweber or Get Response. They are reliable, but you need to pay monthly fees. Worth it.

MailChimp and Aweber are the best in this niche. They have their own extra pluses, but I think you can check ‘em by yourself
