Best after sales follow up email... ?

Hello.

I'm selling information self help relationship products for men. (dating psychology etc).

I have a follow up newsletter system, which is just as usual - sending 1-2 emails per week on average.

I was thinking that it will make a good impression if I have a specific email that I should sent in certain period of time after a new customer buys something. That way it will increase my goodwill in his eyes and make the customer experience way more better, rather looking like someone who has just made a sale and disappeared in oblivion.
And by doing that will increase dramatically the chance of my customer become returning customer and buy more from me further down the road.

So my question is... what would be the best email that I should send, lets say a week after, the initial sale?

Should I best give more info (free ebook)

Should it be just a "thank you" emai"

Should it be "how did you like it?" email

Should it be "tell me what else do you need" type of email?

Or some sort of combination and variation of those?

What would you suggest ?

If you can either create a product, or find an affiliate product that compliments or somehow relates to whatever they just bought, I would offer it to them within a "thank you" email.

This "thank you" email could go something like this:

"Thank you very much for your purchase of _______, I hope you're finding the information to be quite
    useful and helpful.......bla, bla, bla

By the way, here is something else I thought you might like:

(include link to your second product here)

Again, I must emphasize that the second product needs to be something related to the first, that will supplement what they've already bought and further help them achieve what they're trying to accomplish.

I would also ask them for feedback on the first product, Ask them if there's anything that could be improved upon, or
anything that they especially liked or found useful. If they give you suggestions for improvements, I would seriously consider making these changes to the product. If they tell you what they liked, I would ask them for
permission to use their statement as a testimonial to be used on sales/squeeze pages etc.

This one will be the first email they receive once they opt in to your page

this will be the second email they receive...

after that... send another one for the next ebook or the product to remote to them

You mean the 1st email after they have purchased? Or the 1st email when they opted to my list in general.

    TEST.

It's your audience, not mine, so it's different.

In my experience waiting a week after purchase is too long.

We know most people never open the product.

Some people will be action takers and look inside. They won't be waiting a week to do so.

By waiting a week, therefore, you're likely either waiting so long the buyer will have:

    a) forgotten about you in their further pursuit of shiny objects

    or

    b) forgotten about you even though they liked what you you provided, and now you have to fight an uphill battle again.

My estimation is two days after the sale is the best time to email the buyer.

That gives the action takers time to get into the product and still have it top of mind. And the shiny object seekers should still recall buying your initial product.

Now's a great time to give a freebie like a report that educates them about the next level or step in what you do.

Following that, you can test either sending with a couple hour delay or the next day an offer for the solution to this next problem.

In my experience, it's been best not to leave it. People don't "percolate." Strike while the iron is hot and you're still high on their Favorite shiny object list.

OK - thanks for your feedback. I'll try two days and give them free chapters for my next ebook.

I just didn't get should I try to presell them on the free "stuff" that I give them ?

Ask them if they enjoyed the product and tell them to give you feedback on it. Tell them for being so awesome you're going to be giving them another free product (whichever you choose) and say you just want to thank them for being part of your newsletter and end it there.

Short, sweet, and to the point. And they get another free product from you! There trust factor will go through the roof with this method!

    Hope this helps

Yesterday I subscribed to Bencivenga's Bullets (... again - why didn't I read them the first time around).

His first bullet - you get it emailed to you on day 2 - is about exactly that. What to send in your first email and it's something I'm going to apply.

It's about setting out your stall and what you stand for, kinda to create a tribe but it's probably best if you subscribe for yourself and get the undiluted, butchered version!

Subsequent messages constantly great in offering any service from your side..after your client purchase simply send "thank you email" which demonstrates to you appreciation on your clients...

what's more, you can ask how fulfilled on my service give number from 1, 2 ,3.....10....1 is awesome 10is worst...this is your administration audit

next you can make them a decent connection by sending mails every now and again on your new service identified with your specialty this is the thing that my recommendations
