Building out your autoresponder sequence

I am admitting my fault that I do not think I can be consistent with emails. Therefore, I am planning to take the approach of building out my autoresponder well into the future, rather than relying upon myself to remember to compose an email every day/couple days, etc. Do any of you take this approach?

What is your approach to building out your autoresponder campaign:
  • How frequently do you send messages?
  • How frequently do you send offers?
  • For how many days do you follow up with that one offer?
  • How frequently do you change offers? New one every 5 days, each week, twice a month, etc.?
  • How do you determine the offers to include, especially if you haven't tested enough to have a long list you "believe in"?
  • How many different offers to you make in a year's time?
  • If you are in the IM niche, are they primarily systems, like you get through Warrior+ or JVZoo, or are you finding CPA offers that work?
Here is the approach I have so far: I am attempting to set up a message each day. The first day of a series is a message to build curiosity for the blog post it links to. The second day elaborates on the post, be it responding to reader "questions" about the post or something else to bring focus to a "problem" within the post the reader may need a solution for. Day 3 is offering a product that can help solve the problem pointed out on day 2. Day 4 is a reminder about the product.

I built this 4-day cycle on the back of days 0 and 1 of the autoresponder sequence being the free download email and welcome/about my site messages, respectively. I feel it is too quick; only two days between offers is too soon. I feel like 4 should be my minimum, so I am thinking of adding in a story-telling day to improve rapport/connection building, but I am a little lost on the fourth. My first thought is to change the second day to being only about elaborating on the post and adding in another day that identifies the problem inherent before the offer to help "warm" them further.

To be clear, I don't expect to build this out in a week or anything like that; I just want to have a clear plan in my head as I write a couple messages each day and am constantly looking for offers that may work.

Thanks for reading; any advice is welcome.

[*]How frequently do you send offers?
Most every email but with content the main focus. Lots of PM links
[*]For how many days do you follow up with that one offer?
    Couple of follow ups
[*]How frequently do you change offers? New one every 5 days, each week, twice a month, etc.?
It depends. Yo can do a Product offer over a 5 day sequence. With THREE mentions of the Offer and two just straight out content
[*]How do you determine the offers to include, especially if you haven't tested enough to have a long list you "believe in"?
Lots of research, research, and more research. And buying actual products to see their value
[*]How many different offers to you make in a year's time?
In some niches 4 or 5. In others 20 or 30
[*]If you are in the IM niche, are they primarily systems, like you get through Warrior+ or JVZoo, or are you finding CPA offers that work?
Warrior Plus and JV Zoo have plenty of CPAs that work
    .
    Mine in bold

Absolutely . Build up over a 100. And after a certain amount, say 30 you can start recycling.

I take it from this and your other responses, subscribers don't seem to tire too quickly receiving the same offers every 1-2 months? That is reassuring.

Just my 2 cents in this.

<< And after a certain amount, say 30 you can start recycling... >>

I have never received the same identical message (including offers) from the same marketer not even 1 year apart. If that would ever happen, I would surely unsubscribe from that list.

Now, repeating one offer does happen, but within different content. Sometimes in consecutive messages. No problem with that. You can offer something and then, after 3-5 days, maybe a week sometimes, you remind people about your offer. And then, a month later remind them again about it. There's no problem with that.

Do you remember any messages that you may have received saying "Oh, I wanted to remind you about ...this offer... in case you missed it..."? Or something like that. You can use the same formula any time. In fact, you want to repeat your offer from time to time, but without becoming annoying.

On the other hand, you may want to build up a 100+ sequence of messages. This may span over an entire year, if sent some 3-4 days apart. And you can write like 30 messages initially. Then, while people are getting those messages, write some 30 more. And so on.

I gave you an example, but you know better what numbers fit you best.

        Hope it helps,

I can tell you without a doubt you are far and few between. I have studied this over and over. Of course you can go back and edit them with different Titles and maybe make some revisions within the Body.

And you need to go back and look and pick the best ones with highest Conversions and Open Rates too.

But this is a concept not just used by me but many very highly successful Marketers.

Offline Marketers do it as well. I do not turn off the TV just because Coke ran the same commercial with that pretty girl the day before

Remember , just because you do something a certain way or think something should be this way does NOT mean others feel the same

        Very legit question,moon.

Most people are on so many Lists that they cannot even remember EXACTLY what you sent last week let alone a month or two out.

It should be reassuring and it will help you become efficient by doing this

Just make sure those first 30 are really, really damn good. Put a lot of thought and work into them

  • Hi

I think that you have got the right idea to make sure you start to bring some 'personality' into your relationship by pointing people to your blog from the off. This relationship I feel makes the difference when it comes to email marketing.

In terms of the regularity of the initial mails, I would personally suggest daily for at least the first few days so that people get used to seeing your mails. As long as the mails have real content, and not just spammy swipe mails, you should be ok with this.

The other comment I would have is that I always try to have a link of some description within my mails. So although I believe in having 'real' content I also believe there is nothing wrong with including related links that are in context with the main thrust of the mail.

    I hope this helps

    Andy

Thanks for the offer, but I have tried too many done-for-you shortcuts. I need to do this myself and take ownership of the process and my "product".
No offence taken, by the way.

      Cheers.
