I've Got A List!!! Now what???

I used to sell heirloom seeds and just had Paypal send me all their emails. What is the easiest and cheapest way to send my personal email list info about a new product? I signed up for an email blaster but it was unable to send any emails to free email boxes. They were all rejected. Any ideas? I appreciate any input. Blessings!

    Hi,
So you used to be a seller of heirloom seeds, people use to purchase through paypal.

Now you have their email address...

Sorry for repeating what you said but i buy
stuff from eBay and amazon and many other places,
i use my Paypal account, I've not given anyone
permission to email me as i have not opted in for that....

Im quiet surprised that Paypal sent you their emails

I would be fuming if i get a email from
someone i have not opted in from..
Unless its in there terms and conditions...

These emails were given to me by my customers themselves . Now I want to let them know about a new offer that I have. They can opt out if they want to in the email I send them. They did not buy from me through ebay. They bought my product by either phoning in the order to me or purchasing of my personal website.

According to your original post, they were not given to you by your customers, they were used by your customers to make a purchase via paypal, there is a big differnce.

Now, you can contact customers that purchased from you, but you can not assume they want to be marketed to. What you might want to do is just send them emails asking if they want to be put on your list so you can send them some related offers, provide a link to a squeeze page in your email.

Most services do not like to import email lists unless they can verify that these people have opted-in to your list.

Again. Making a purchase through paypal is not opting in to your list. And, many people have a separate email address for their paypal account and do not like to get emails other than paypal emails to that address.

How many messages do you plan to send each month?

List Size X Message Frequency = Total per month

    2000 x 2 times per week =16000

The reason I ask, if you are doing low volume there may be a cheaper solution over autoresponder services.

Most autoresponders charge based on how may contacts are in your list and you can send unlimited messages. However, there are services that you can also pay per message sent and could be cheaper, but only if your total volume per month is low.

While I have never used any free stuff to send with, you should just go with something free since you are talking such low volume. I know sendgrid has a free account that you can send 12K monthly and that's probably what I would choose if I was in your situation.

  • Hey Truthseeker2013.. Smartly use your list, send them nice and useful information like the one you would like to read yourself. This builds trust and rapport. Next going for a nice email marketing app helps as it sorts, streamlines and enhances your email marketing campaign. I use Ariticmail, They have great autoresponders to begin with, all the emails I sent through them have been opened and they help to import newer email lists too.

Hi, I agree with agmccall. The data from your customers required to complete the purchase are not to be mistaken for opt-ins.

Autoresponders such as GetResponse and Mailchimp allow options for them to opt-in to your newsletters and emails during paypal check out. This will be a good way to start accumulating your subscribers list.

I personally like GetResponse for its flexibility in calendar management and easy tracking of opened emails and clicks in a glance. They charge different rates base on the number of subscribers you send to.
