Hey guys,

It''s been asked many times before here on WF but how are you all growing your email lists these days?

I'm launching an online store and have around 50 emails but naturally we want more. Aside from the usual i.e signup form everywhere, links to signup form everywhere, FB etc, what are you doing differently? What didn't work? Ideas?

    Hey amcg,

There are 100's if not 1000's of ways to grow your email list.
A great lead magnet is always a good start, and make sure to split test your opt-in pages.

    I've had a 30% increase in opt-in's, just by hanging 1 word in a headline :O
    Hope this helps!
    Cheers,
    Aron

What's your thoughts with respect to lead magnet? Is this things like giving away an ebook?

I'm selling a physical product so any ideas would be appreciated.

        Hi there

I have an e-commerce site that sell physical product, and trying to build my list.
First thing to do is setup an optin form with coupon discount offer to exchange with their email.
Second, i set up an ebook about my product with some of tips how to become our reseller.
Third, try to keep in touch with our list and offer to them if they bring another customer to shop, they will get another coupon discount.

        Hope its clear for you.

You can start building list of emails by letting your audience opt in or subscribe.
You can scrap the emails from databases online or offline. List building is easy for you if the database contain the emails of your target audience, all you will need is access to the database in this case. The last option is doing web research and checking if search engines has any information about the email of a particular contact. If the search is not easy, you might have to apply guess techniques and check with tools like rapportive. There is no other magic in growing a email list.
Doing email verification or validation check of emails before using is essential.

        Hi,

Yes, a good email magnet can be an eBook. You didn't say what you're retailing. So, a book idea might be: 33 ways to save 25% to 100% or more on everything you buy!

Or 65 great things you never knew you can get for free!

Hi, what other traffic-driving methods did you do? You'd mentioned linking to your sign-up form everywhere, FB, etc. Not sure what physical product you're selling but yes, giving away free e-book or free trial use of the product for a month, for example, helps to get the needed sales traction for a start for a new product in the market to get noticed.

Think of other ways to drive traffic; apart from social media platforms, even engaging regularly in forums relating to your niche in sharing opinions and offering solutions to the members that is one way of 'planting seeds' for future sales.

Consider a visual medium of promoting your product - it can be a demo video, or simply a clip of you sharing about the information of the product, or someone doing a review of it, on popular streaming media platforms like Youtube, Vimeo, Dailymotion, etc, to increase your product's exposure as well as the level of understanding by your potential customers. Obviously these can be linked to your sign-up form as well.

I hope the above few pointers help

The product is a running armband, so we're marketing towards the younger, fitness and technology orientated crowd. I will definetly look into giving away an ebook and other offers to try and get signups.

Does anyone have a list or infographic of what attracts the most signups? I've tried searching but haven't found anything definitive.

Product launching, blogging, PPC, and solo ads are all one could ever need.

I blog every day and get a lot of free leads from that (but I've worked hard to get people sharing and following my content lol).

The real question is - what's your budget?

i followed this 6 method to grow my email list.

    1. You need to make your opt-in form prominent
    2. make the opt-in form impossible to miss
    3. Create and offer a high-value white paper
    4. Run a contest that engages your readers
    5. Publish a newsletter with niche-specific information
    6. Monitor the right metrics – and put them to the test

Hello..You can grow your email lists in the following ways depending on the resources that you have:
    1)Create a squeeze page:
This can let you get access to people who are genuinely interested in your product and who will constitute your opt-in lists.

    2)Use a Social Lead Extractor:
An email grabber/spider or social lead extractor enables the extraction of email ids from all social websites like linkedin, facebook, twitter etc for which you have to just enter keywords specific to your niche.

    3)Provide free goodies online::
Leaving a small reward like an e-book,a video tutorial etc can grab the eyeballs of potential customers and give you access to their email ids.

    4)Purchase email lists:
This is very easy but expensive and not as effective as the remaining because there is no assurance that the emails in the lists are valid or no.

5)Showcasing your physical product at a promotional event:
If you have the resources needed you can have a stall among a syndicate of other sellers to make people aware of your product and get them to sign up for additional information.
