I have an email list and I sent out a mailing using a bulk email sending program. There were a number of bounce backs which appear in the webmail from my ISP as individual emails notifying my that the email was either undeliverable or "Delivery Status Failure" etc.

I would like to add the addresses from these emails to my "Do Not Send" list so they will be filtered out before I send another email out. But the only way I know now of doing this would be to individually open each email and copy pasting the address that bounced.

Is there a way to extract all these addresses more efficiently? These addresses are sent and I will have to deal with these, but for the next batch is there an easier way to get the list of bounce back addresses that should be set up before I start mailing?

Your help is appreciated. Thanks

Clifford

I believe you bounce back error is due to the bulk mailer you are using. I will suggest using an autoresponder service like Getresponse or Aweber. Also you can use this software Email Bounce Handler by Maxprog to extract all the emails that bounced.

i agree. there is also reasons for bounce back sometimes it could be the connection and other times it may be the address could be incorrect but useing a service provider will make you handling situations such as this much easier. it may cost you money but its worth it. aweber doesnt cost that much.

Clifford, consider mailing with a better email autoresponder service.

The majority that I've used (GetResponse, Imnicamail and Aweber for example) automatically remove bounced emails if they continually bounce. (Especially if they "Hard Bounce").

Otherwise, you'll need to develop some type of script to automate the process on your own.

    Wishing you the best...

I trust you ricochet back mistake is because of the mass mailer you are utilizing. I will recommend utilizing an autoresponder administration like Getresponse or Aweber. Likewise you can utilize this product Email Bounce Handler by Maxprog to extricate every one of the messages that skiped.

It may (or may not) be a good idea. Before taking such a decision I suggest that you find out the reason for these bounces. It's included in the returned messages.

If the email addresses are misspelled, don't exist, etc, well then you can remove them from your list.

But if the cause of these bounces was something wrong at your end (for example your message included a link to a domain name that is blacklisted), then you should correct the issue instead of removing subscribers from your list.

Thanks for the help but I found the answer within Outlook. Basically go to File, Import/Export, Export to a file, Microsoft Excel, on inbox, then next, Save exported file as (set up an empty excel file), then it goes to map something and that's where you need to clear all the entries on the right and then drag and drop the info headings from the left side over to the right side. Then just click ok and it does it fast.
I had a problem with this - the first time I tried it it worked but I didn't bring some of the info headings (like "body") over to the right side from the left and the next time I tried going through the above sequence the Map button was greyed out. I kept getting that result a few times but then I opened a completely new excel file and saved it in a different location and this time it didn't grey out.

I have another question for the forum which I will post about as a new thread, but I would like to be able to speak with someone over Google Hangouts, record it and then find a good voice to text program to transcribe it. The last time I tried using Hangouts it didn't work the way I remember it and I was having a hard time to get it to just record a conversation with someone. If someone has any advice about this, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.
