How NOT to waste subscriber trust when you get a new mailing list subscriber

One of the most repeated pieces of 'advice' here is to redirect new list members to an offer after they've subscribed.

You might not have built enough trust with your visitor for this redirection to end with a conversion.

Here are 7 other things you can do

Strategy 1 – Direct them to another page on your site

Strategy 2 – Ask buyers for a social share (I LOVE THIS ONE! )

Strategy 3 – Offer a coupon code for a future purchase (if you have an MMO list, this is a good place to post that Hostgator coupon code and order link)

the rest are outlined at (not my site) 7 ways to increase conversion rates on your thank you pages

My point is you might want to THINK OUTSIDE the affiliate product redirect box ... you might get more value out of that user if you did so

I think the best thing to do, is redirect to a video of yourself.

It can be a sales video actually, as long as you introduce yourself and act cool.

But yeah, if you redirect to an affiliate offer right off the bat - it might effectively make sales, but your subscriber will have *no idea* who you are, so it's not an effective long-term strategy, if you have any intention of building a wholesome list who knows you, likes you, and trusts you.

  • Hey Writeaway the response to this is known by all and repeated umpteen times, but still need of this forum arises. People still cant hold their horses when they get new subscribers they just want to send them latest offers to get more business flowing. It puts off those new members. Howmuchever you wanna scream offers, just dont. Send them useful information, simple greetings, build a rapport and trust, engage in their conversations on social media platforms and redirect them towards your product/service. Lastly use a good email marketing app to save yourself from all the hard work. I use Ariticmail for my fashion store.
