I'm considering using solo ads for list building but not exactly sure where to start. Would appreciate any insight from anyone who has been there and done that.

Been selling and buying solos over the past 4 years and I could say with a well optimized funnel you can build your list with little costs or even make profits from the back end.

It's about split testing and finding out the jackpot.

I'd better suggest to purchase leads and use to send all the traffic to your funnels. It also depends on your purposes .

I think solo ads rock, but you have to do them right.

    Things you need:

    # 1 - A thorough undertstanding of your end user demographic.

    # 2 - An email marketing funnel that introduces yourself, builds rapport, prestige, and authority, that ALSO makes sales frequently and as soon as possible.

    # 3 - Solo ad vendors who aren't a joke.

If you have those three things, solo ads rock.

If you miss any of those variables, you're doomed for utter and complete failure.

    Hey Stews!

    To make it quick.. Yes!!

Solo Ads are my #1 way to grow my list. The key is to find the right provider, one with a highly responsive list and converts highly.

You can go on Udimi and order from there, or you can go on Google and look them up. But there is a Facebook group called "Solo Ad Testimonials" and you can also check out and talk with seller on there.

The best way to find a good seller though by far is to get recommendations from people you know/trust.

I am in the internet marketing niche or "making money online" and my seller whom I order from is Justin Spencer with justinsoloads (.com). His list is ULTRA responsive, but I am not sure what niche you are in, but if you're in the internet marketing niche I'd suggest giving him a shot.

Also a quick technique you can do is order your way up to 1,000 subscribers (can be done with a couple big orders of clicks) and then go on a website called Safe-Swaps (.com) and offer AdSwaps for people whose list is close in size.

That's a great technique for skyrocketing your list once you hit the 1,000 subscriber mark. Just a thought though, you can build it however you want.

Anyways I hope that was enough information on solo ads and DEFINITELY give them a shot. They work wonders for many, many, many people out there and don't have a doubt they'll work wonders for you too!

    Hope this helped

    Take care,

    Adam

The potential for solo ads is huge if you have access to good sources and know how to implement them. Come to think of it, how good of an offer or program you are selling has a lot to do with it to. The quality of your offering and how targeted your audience is.

A few sources you may want to familiarize yourself with can be found within the safelist subscriber domain. Greg Chadwick, Stan from TopSurfer, and Jose Camacho are a few good sellers that come to mind. You can also take a peek at a site called Udimi dotcom if you are specializing in MMO's (money making offers)

If you plan on using this list to sell solo ads to others, go for it. If you plan on using this list for anything other then selling solo ads - don't waste your money. In my own extensive testing, traffic from solo ads is only looking for freebies. You may get a sale here and there but it will not be worth it.

I find it interesting that people here are saying "solo ad traffic converts"....

      I agree with Matt.

Solo ad traffic used to be good up until 2 years ago. Now I wouldn't touch it.

You got good advice from all the Warriors above. Have a good sales funnel that converts, have a good OTO after new subscribers opt-in, find reliable solo ad sellers. I add 1 more vote for buying solo ads via Udimi. Look for sellers there who have lots of satisfied buyers, and who report getting sales from their one-time-offers.

I would highly recommend you buy solo ads on Udimi.
This website has a lot of reputable solo ad sellers that provide quality and scam free traffic. Your money will be safe there as seller will get payment after he delivers all required clicks to your page/offer/link.
Also, you can see testimonials from other buyers, choose sellers by niche, price, etc.
