SINGLE Opt-In Email Marketing Solution?

by The Oilman 12 replies
Hi there.

I sell a product and I want just a few emails to go out after someone orders.

They are activated to a list just with the software I am using by an email.
Currently its via aweber and goes like: listname@aweber.com

But aweber makes them double opt in.

Any way to get around this with a different email company?

None that I've seen (or is worth using). But there are a lot of different autoresponder companies out there. How many have you searched and contacted so far to see if they offer this solution?

There is a way to set up auto optin with aweber.

    Call them on the phone.

Getresponse allows you to turn off the confirmation email for people who subscribe by email. Try their free month trial and see how it works for you.

Depending on your business mailchimp may work. Keep in mind they do not allow affiliate offers.

You can do this with get response, but you will need to contact support letting them approve whatever your website/landing page is. If i remember correctly you need a private policy etc.

There's no approval needed. It's right there in the settings for you to set for yourself. I suppose if someone has had a lot of complaints their account may be limited and need approval to turn it off. But I can turn it on or off myself with no problem and no approval needed and I don't have any kind of special account and never had to request this option either.

Hi @The Oilman, Are you using aweber API for optin to your list, through your software?

If yes, then earlier aweber was having strict rules of double optin, using their API.

But now rules have changed, and you have to contact aweber support to enable single optin through API usage.

Aweber reviews API single optin request, case by case. But most of the time, you will be approved.

I believe Aweber has that option to turn off double opt-in confirmation. But I am not sure about using that email address to subscribe people.

The confirmation feature might always be on for people who subscribe through that email address. You should call Aweber support so they can help you.

As others have said, GetResponse lets you turn this off easily. Aweber forces you to leave it on unless you can prove to them you're not doing something bad.

If it's within Mailchimp's TOS, they make it pretty easy. They support automation better now, too. Not sure if the free level will work for this.
