Content of autoresponder, advice needed

Hi everyone!

I need advice from you guys. I've searched forum looking for this kind of advice but didint find anything specific.
This is my first attempt in this industry so I would like to not fail it completly

I'm currently struggling with creating high quality content for autorespoder (its step-by-step guide to be specific)
My idea is to write short (~200 words) messages and put 3-5 outer links to websites, videos, graphics etc. Of course further in sequence those links will be affiliates mostly.

Pro's:
- There is much less work to do. I just have to write bond between links.
- It will be much easier to put affiliates between those links and peoples might get used to click on links - It should raise my sales up.

Con's:
- It might be dangerous to redirect peoples to other websites - the might never come back.

What do you think about this?

The con you mention is true. You may be able to get around this somewhat by setting up your own site on the topic. Some of the content you want people to view could be there. There is no problem putting you tube videos on your site. Other content that is not written by you will require that you are careful not to plagerize. Properly credit the author or rewrite the content in your own words. This way visitors are not sent to other sites but stay on your site for much of their viewing.

If you want to create content for your autoresponder try to look into autoresponder madness.

Anyway, to have a quick content that will direct people to buy your product / service, just create HQ Blog Posts.

Then load those contents into your autoresponder sequence.

    Important Note:
You need to have HQ content to make sales, not some crappy ones.

A good example for this, is a company called YNAB.

    Join and learn from them.

You can learn from their sequence & you can modify it to your own needs.

    Hope that helps.

  • Hi

Just to put another spin on this. If your emails are providing good information (whether you write it, or you link to it), people are likely to want to keep coming back. What you are doing is a form of curation, which is a method that has a long track record.

In other words I don't think you should dismiss your original plan out of hand, but perhaps mix it up with self authored stuff - after all variety is the spice of life

    I hope this helps.

    cheers

The thing that caught my eye was, "those links will be affiliates mostly" and instead of mostly I would say occasionally. If I am going to stay subscribed to a list, it better have more than 200 word pitches in it.

I would create an autoresponder series on your specific niche, maybe a guide on how to do something. I don't know what niche you're in, but it's almost always possible to create some kind of guide on how to do certain things within the niche.

Don't you have your own website to redirect your subscribers to? You could create a full series of blog posts that are only accessible through your autoresponder.

I posted this a few weeks ago in a Thread here.

      Maybe it might help you.

Something I developed over the Years. It is very efficient in making money with
emails to your List. Regardless of the Niche your in, you can use this blueprint and benefit.

(Btw, this is called a 'mini-launch' , and is composed of 4 to 6 emails centered around 1 Product you're
      promoting to your List )

Let's use the example of the weight loss niche
      In this mini-launch,
I am focusing on selling one Product that is a video course and teaches people how
to lose weight and get in shape.

      1. Personality email -
Introduction. Talk about your own story and maybe how you always have had a
problem with getting down to that ideal weight you always dreamed about. Make yourself
      "relatable".
Towards the end of email (in as P.S. maybe) let your Reader
know that there will be a free gift or
report in the next follow up related to getting in optimal fitness and hitting a desirable weight.
And you want to help them with this.

      2. Value Email -
This can be a PDF, video, audio, article,MP3 etc.. which will give Value to your
reader and give him some tips on losing weight with nutrition or exercises.

      3.Soft Sale/Value email –
Okay, in this email you want to talk more about getting fit and losing weight.
Maybe come up with another personal story of how you overcame obstacles with bad eating habits that
caused you to gain excess weight.
This should be a Lead-in into the Product you are promoting. Towards the bottom, put your Affiliate
Link to the Weight Loss Program you are promoting so your subscribers can Click and check it out.

      4. Hard Sale –
Okay, this email is pretty much one big sales pitch, but done very, very tactfully. Stress
all the benefits with your weight loss program and how it can really put your prospect in tip top shape.
They just need to Click on your Affiliate link , and they will be on their way to that fine, toned, and sexy
      body

      5. The Bridge -
This is to remind your Readers that your email follow ups are geared to delivering
excellent content and NOT just sale pitches. In fact , about 50%
of your emails should just be great
free content to build up Rapport and Trust with your Audience. And also help them out too

      6. Reminder email –
Here essentially you are done with your 'Mini-Launch' . You are on to another
topic with new email follow ups.

But for me ,it is very important to have a reminder note at the top of this new email.
Something like this, " Before we get started today, I just wanted to give a final shout out for you all
to check out 'Deb's Weight Loss Program'. It will get you in that hot bikini for a hot Summer by the
      Beach. Just CLICK HERE

Thats what I meant - this plan will grand me high quality content, which as far as I understood is most important thing in this playground.
Ill use your suggestion and mix it up a bit . Thanks.

Actually this is going to be "how to become a vegan: step-by-step guide". What do you think about it?
Nope. I dont have any other websites.
Ye, I've read this alredy, that this kind (I mean private blog) of showing content totally outstanding. First of all Ill try autoresponder - I need to learn it anyway.
        Thx for your response!

This is a pretty solid sequence and I use something similar and it works well.

The key, as most people have said, is to add value and help your subscribers. Too many affiliate marketers just constantly blast out promo after promo with zero content and that is a sure fire way to burn through your list.

Make sure you're giving your subscribers VALUE. Don't just be selling to them all the time. Sometimes you should just give your subscribers good content without trying to directly promote a website or product.

You didn't mention a word about the people who you expect to consume your content so it looks like you may not have given them much thought.

No matter what you plan to offer there has to be a strategy for creating and nurturing a relationship with the person on the other end or else you give them no reason to want to remain a subscriber or to come back to your site/blog/website.

Give people good reasons to come back and a good part of your challenge will automatically be resolved. Send them off to some other location you have an affiliate relationship with (most of the time they get contacted by you) and while you may get lucky it will not be long-lived.

I don't think you need to worry about this too much. You've already got them on your email list. As long as the site's you're sending them to are delivering them value, they'll keep opening your emails. So when a later email links to something on your own site, you'll have a chance to bring them back then.

I believe great content bonds followers to the original point of contact. Redirect is dangerous, as you mention. However, I believe it's in the nature of followers to stay with you until you give reason not to.

You should direct your own landing page with opt-in form to get the contact before you direct them to other people's sale page. So that if people don't buy, you still have their contact and can email them other offers in the future
