    1. Double opt-in if you think that many people are opting in with a fake email address ... though why just Yahoo?
    2. Feedback loops and warmed-up IPs will help your reputation anywhere, Yahoo included
    3. I don't think POP3 and IMAP has an effect. Why?
    4. Gmail uses their own proprietary one.
    5. Positive engagement rates (open, click, reply, whitelist are all important to this)
    6. You probably can't.
    7. You can't.
    8. Do you mean what time of day should email be sent? Or are you talking about sends/hour?
    9. They wouldn't be terribly effective if they were easy to filter. If your subscribers are opting in, and you do regular list hygiene, you should be fine.
    10. I wouldn't trust them if I were you. Again, proper opt-ins and appropriate list hygiene will be better than any list.
    11. Hucks? What?
    12. This varies with time and reputation.

Most of your questions can be answered in these steps:

1a. As someone who has, trust me: Only send mail to addresses that have been opted into your list. Don't send to purchased or scraped lists.

1b. Only send mail to addresses that have been opted into your list. Don't send to purchased or scraped lists.

1c. Only send mail to addresses that have been opted into your list. Don't send to purchased or scraped lists.

    2. Make sure your opt-in form is clear on expectations.

    3. Make sure the email content is relevant and genuinely helpful. Include some emails that are "content-heavy" and focus less on selling (not necessarily without a call-to-action at all, but minimal focus).

    4. Send at regular intervals, making sure to not exceed the expectations of those who opted in.

    5. Honor opt-out requests promptly.

    6. Remove email addresses after so many days if they haven't opened or clicked anything (I hear anything from 30 days to 90 days.). This is the "hygiene" I was talking about earlier.
