Need some email marketing advice

Hey fellow warriors, I need some advice here. This is my situation... I just started a list about a week ago and I currently have 1,100 on the list. I know that is not a big list but I want to start mailing them now. My problem is that since this is my first time I don't know how to go about it. I have read a lot on this forum and others about some approaches but they all have my head spinning. Some people say send out free content at first to build a relationship, while others I read say send offers right away so that you don't train your list to be freebie seekers. I guess my question to the forum is what would you do in my position? I have everything else set up. I just don't know the right approach. How did you first start mailing your list.

Also I like the approach of having free content with a offer but I'm confused on how to do that. Should I get plr product and put affiliate links in it?

One more question... What's the best way to cloak my link in my emails for the best results?

Why don't you try it yourself? IM is all about trying and experimenting and figuring out stuff on your own. What works for some people may or may not work for you.

You should have an autoresponder series in place before you start collecting emails. You don't really want to wait until you have 1100 emails before you start emailing them.

Remember, they have no idea how many or how few are on your list. Only that they are on it. How long has the first person been on your list without getting a welcome email?

What is the product you are promoting? Is it an affiliate offer or your own product?

As soon as someone joins our list they should get automatic emails.

The first should be a brief welcome and instructions on how to get your "freebie"... i.e. a link.

You can also have a longer introductory email introducing yourself, your list and what they can expect as a member of your list.

The next series should be related to the product you are promoting. You can provide good info and help that leads to needing the product.

For example, if you are promoting a keyword research tool, maybe your first few emails talk about Amazon niche sites, SEO and traffic. Talk about how to use the Google Keyword tool (free) and then promote the keyword tool (paid, affiliate offer) as an advantage.

You can also add the affiliate link to the offer in the footer/signature of the email.

What is your plan for the list? Are you going to teach them, build a relationship and promote offers you believe in or products you made?

Or are you going to sell one-off solo ads regularly and monetize that way?

A list is really a built in market and source of traffic and you can do a lot of different things with it depending on your business model.

First thing please be understand , you should monetize your list at any cost, So just keeping list is a useless better you keep some affiliates or releated niches and reach out your customers or lists through that, this will make you better offer and better money from them

You can find people in Fiverr to do a high converting email for you. The best way to cloak your affiliate link is with your own domain name.

As mentioned in previous posts -- put together a mini course or autoresponder series before you start collecting. But it's not too late to start now. Put something of value together and start sending it out. Either you'll get engagement (opens and click-throughs) or unsubscribes (which is good because you clean your list... but can also be bad b/c it could be because of content irrelevant to your subscribers).

I use ConvertKit for my email opt-in and mini course delivery.

As far as 'cloaking' links -- are you referring to affiliate links?

If so, and if you use WordPress, try:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/easy-affiliate-links/

It's free, easy to use, and works well.

I'm curious -- how did you manage to collect 1100 subscribers without having some sort of offer? I'm pretty sure you had a campaign in mind, b/c 1100 signups in a week is pretty good. But I'm also curious to see if they signed up expecting to receive something... because if it's random signups, and you start sending out emails to them that may not be relevant, that count could drop.

    Hope this helps!

First introduced youself. Offer some value that the subscribers are looking for, convince them that you have solution to their problems and then offer some relevant products. Email everyday , but promote products once or twice a week. Don't overcook.

    Hey fellow,

I think you don't need to hesitate, you now have a list and the only thing you need to do for it is to strive to come up with your first email with either free or paid stuff links. You will never know what will happen unless you've tried it, so the best way to do it is just do it and it will give you the chance to see the outcome.

If you're not sure what strategy you would use first, I would suggest that you try broadcast for your cold start since you'll consume more time to produce a series of follow up emails however grow no experience with your list.

Be fast in action so it will actually move you forward.

    Hope this helps,

One more question... What's the best way to cloak my link in my emails for the best results?
example your website is www . letsmakemoney . com

    something like that...
instead of following the link in the given affiliate link

You can use google. From google you find out your relevant company mail and send them your desired product.

Your first mail to them should be an introductory mail. you welcoming them to your newsletter and telling them about yourself and what they should be expecting in couple of days.

If this have been done, then in the subsequent mails proceed to render them what you told them to expect. this can come in form of free mini course to indoctrinate yourself and brand to them, while selling your products.

this is basically how i treat my new subscribers.

I also like the idea of free content at the beginning. Everyone likes free stuff (even if they don`t know that nothing is free in our world, you will always pay in a way).
In my last campaign, I used the "free something" option (was offering a 30 free trial of a supplement) and had tons of people interested.

    Two more questions:
    1. What are you trying sell?
    2. Is the product yours, or are you an affiliate?

Yeah, if you're getting this kind of sign-up volume, you must have a product/service of interest, and should send your offers first.
