Questions For Best IM and Email Minds Only

I'd really appreciate some feedback, and possible dialogue, from people who know their way around IM and especially email.

I'm thinking about the prospect of finding products I like and believe in, and can promote even to friends and relatives.

I'm also considering doing this without having my own website/blog, using email and perhaps a landing page or very basic, simple web page.

First of all, how doable would this be?

Second, would it be a real disadvantage not putting out my own regular/semi-regular "content"?

I'd like to market mainly through the ability to write strong, compelling emails, and putting up effective landing pages, if necessary. Avoiding the necessity of a web presence would be nice, if possible.

I also want to be able to build a list, and not just rely on solo ads or renting lists.

Finally, any opinions on the book Open Click Buy by Jon Benson?

Any insight or input would be much appreciated.

I do think that you idea is very doable if you will go via social media and create interesting presence for people there on facebook or twitter .

I am personally using get response where basic account cost around 12 € a month. and you have possibly create landing pages there too. So you don't need own hosting.

    hope this helps

You can't avoid a web presence if you intend to make real money online. You can't be a marketer in a vacuum.

Yes, not putting out your own content is a huge mistake. If you want a real business online that makes money consistently and is scaleable, you need to put yourself, your voice, and your content out there. How else will people get to know, like, and buy from you?

The easiest way to build a list is to write strong, effective, interesting, unique content, and share that around in places like WF, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc. But to do that, you need a web presence.

And, depending on the products you intend to promote to friends and relatives...well, trust me...they're not going to get it, and they're not going to spend money on it. Unless you want to do MLM type product sales...but that's something else entirely.

What you're suggesting is certainly doable . . . however, I think you will be severely limiting your potential to grow a list, attract followers, command authority and credibility . . . and ultimately, make money.

I'm not sure why you feel that trying to do online business without a web site is preferable. Investing in a web site, keeping it current, and using it as your "home base" is a cinch, a piece of cake, anyone can do it. Most importantly, people expect you to have a web site if you're selling something.

Why limit yourself? Why try to make this more difficult than it needs to be?

    Absolutely positively 100 % doable.
I do it myself with a couple of my Niches

Personally, it enables me to focus more highly on building my List and really take it to the next level. Keeping up a Website takes time. Will I make more money having a Website ? Yeah probably. But its the trade off I am willing to take to have more freedom and have more laser focused effort

Although here is something you can do: Take your Email Content and simply Post it on a Blog (also Facebook Page,Twitter etc..etc..) And then have a Optin Form in a corner of that Blog. This will add more diversification in the Mediums that will be collecting and building your List while at the same time building your Brand and maintaning a Web
    Presence

    Doable: Yes.
    Profitable: If done right, yes.
In need of improvement: Definitely ...

Owning your own funnel/platform will always be more effective and like mentioned before by others, there are many reasons why it's an easy way to go which will improve your results. Also, not selling your own products if you theoretically could is wasted potential in my opinion.

You don t need your own website to promote great products. I recomand you sendlane, they have a free trial period and you can build your own landing page very easy.

I also suggest you never rent lists and try build you own.

I heavily promote PPL (pay per lead) offers because there is no credit card / purchase required. All a user has to do is fill out a form to make money. I also promote regular cpa offer that do require a purchase, but I mainly promote these on the back-end.

I promote 100% through email and for the most part, I have zero web presence and I send zero content. The reason why, is that I don't need to build trust, because most of the offers are free...no purchase required.

I don't even build the lists that I use to generate the traffic. 100% of all the data that I use to promote ppl/cpl offers is purchased.

In my case it works well and I've been doing it that way for just over 16 years. However it's not going to work for everything and in those cases, you will want to create a site, send content, build your own list, etc, etc, etc...

Just because you can do something, doesn't mean that you should.

The money is not in the list, but in your relationship with the people on the list.

If you do as you inquired, what value are you contributing?

If you're not valuable to your subscribers why are they on your list?

The reason marketers put themselves out there is to connect with the PEOPLE on their lists and to provide those people with real value.
Or, that's what they are supposed to do anyway.
