Question about CTR and MailChimp's measurement

2 replies
What is the official definition of CTR?

MailChimp measures clicks as the percentage of total people in your email list that click a link in an email, as opposed to the rate of people who click through once they open the email.

I see everyone talking about getting CTR of 15-30% and I'm stuck here looking at MailChimp's number thinking "sh*t why am I stuck at 2%?"

What do you usually measure? The amount of clicks total, or the amount of people that open and then click through?

    CTR= Click Through Rate.

    I measure links clicked in email. I use a Clixtrac, but there are many others available, just google "link tracking" or something similar.

    The Flu? Not worthy of a mention here???

    Clicktrough rates vary by industry, but they also vary by placement, I have a nice chart on this page.

    2% is the average, I think when people say they get 15-30%, they are probably referring to Open Rates.
