Visited site, did not provide email, then got targeted - How are they doing it?
Bit of a mystery that I thought this crowd might be able to help with.
I visited a vendor site a couple days ago, browsed a few pages and then left. I did not submit my email.
Next day I get there newsletter. Ignoring for now that this is technically spam...Any idea how they are doing this? I have never been to their site prior to this and to the best of my knowledge have never submitted my email to a webinar or event that they are affiliated with.
Other info that may be relevant:
- Fellow employee was targeted by a prospecting email prior to both of us visiting the site.
- I submit my email to plenty of sites...could they be dipping into someones database and then matching based on IP?
