How many follow up sales emails are you sending and how often before moving the lead into a general newsletter type list?

    Hey MrDeflation,

    5 emails. Following this pattern.

    1. Identify their problem, irritate it a bit
    2. Irritate further but touch on life without it
    3. Complete life without problem story, and touch on the sales pitch (you have a solution to their problem)
    4. All out sales pitch of product/service to deliver solution. Cancel email 5 if this works.
    5. Let them know that when it's the right time for them to fix their problem you have the solution, soft sell one last time.

Copyrighting is a huge element of this working. So you need to know your audience inside and out.

    Good Luck!

It varies by the client but we generally follow a "strike while the iron is hot" approach, sending at a high frequency on the first week, and tapering off after that.

  • Hi,

In our case, we do a 7-email follow up. These are sent daily with links for free ebook copies for them to look forward to every email. These are set in autoresponder mode and after the 7-day email is finished, we send a 2nd batch for them to sign up for membership in our site.

    Tips:
    1. Make your title exciting and interesting
    2. Create good content so they will have something to look forward to
    3. Build trust and go for soft selling (as mentioned by mattcoco)

This depends on the niche you are currently focusing on. Ours is an adventure site so we touch adventure and outdoor topics to our subscribers. Hope this helps!
