Large email list, don't know what to do with it

Hi everyone,

I have a large email list of about 60,000 students at a Florida University. I aquired these lists over the last 4 years while working at the university. I worked an info booth and I always asked the students if the wanted to sign up to recieve promotional offers and discounts. Now I'm not working there and I have the list. I signed for ownership of the list. I don't know where i can't sell this.

Any help is appreciated!

    You could sell almost anything and make a killing. Are you kidding me? Lol.

    Do yourself a favor, just JV with or hire an email copywriter worth their salt and make a killing.

    Start educating yourself on the topic of list building and email marketing, there's plenty of information on the forum. A list of 60,000 can be very profitable or not at all, it depends on where you want to take it.

    Start a blog, with a huge list like that, you may be able to put adsense on your site and just do a newsletter type of thing with the blog. You may make a lot of money doing this.

    You are ahead in that case, than most people since you don't have to worry about a list anymore. You need to plan first what product is most likely gonna be used by these people or perhaps start monetizing it by being an affiliate. But here's a draft of some ways how you can make it happen.

    1. Study the people in your list and look for a good product to promote.
    2. Use an email marketing tool
    3. Setup your autoresponders (time, frequency, arrangement of content)
    4. Provide links going to your affiliate page

    If you've been accumulating the list over 4 years then it is pretty much useless if you've never mailed to them and haven't been building a relationship.

    Most of these people will forget they ever gave you their email address and will just mark it as spam.

    You could think about what they want/need and what makes them tick (the things that cause them to feel pain and pleasure) and maybe even introduce yourself and ask them what they want (ask and you shall receive) with a short survey like Frank Kern does and then sell them what they want!

    Like people said before, you can sell your own product or an affiliate offer and its easier if you get an autoresponder to automate everything...there's even businesses built on giving discounts!!! I got a friend that literally sells discount cards and he's making a killing! Good luck.

    Find a product or service that those 60,000 students would love to have or use.
    Then send a broadcast email to the entire list. You should get a HUGE response.
    Heck just imagine if you were promoting a product and 10% of the list purchased the product within the next 2 weeks. Let's say the product sold for $49.99 and you kept $30 of the sale price. Let's do the math 6,000 x $30,00= $180,000

    Create a series of persuasive follow up messages, or simply try to broadcast an affiliate product that is relevant and see how it goes, I'm sure a 60.000 Email list can make you a lot of money... Good luck

    I would find companies that want to pay to do a mailing to them.

    You know they are most likely to be on a mobile mobile device, so it has to be mobile friendly.

    They are likely addicted to social media, so I would definitely be thinking how to get them to share, to get greater reach.

    Supposedly it's a big $$$ market. But is that based on what mommy and daddy spend on them towards stuff and not their own disposable income that they have?

    You need to learn the market...It's not a demographic that I know at all.

    I think I wouldn't sell this list as it's gold. If these are students more or less the same age and partly same interests such as education and development, give them something they're eager to take. Then, once you get the audience, a variety of options will appear.
