I am using amazon SES service for sending updates and newsletters to my subscribers but for past two days i didn't get any response from my subscribers because my mails are targeting spam folder (mostly in Gmail).
Also i have added all the specified DNS records correctly as mentioned in the amazon console.

I have surfed to find out solution for this but i couldn't..

Could anyone please suggest a solution to this?

  • Try this and see what you get:

    1) Get a Gmail address
    2) Add it to your mailing list
    3) Send to that Gmail address one of the messages that were problematic. Exactly the same message, don't change anything.
    4) Log in your Gmail account
    5) If the message landed in the spam folder, open it and see the reason mentioned there by Gmail.

    • Hi

      Thanks for the reply.

While sending through amazon ses(amazonses.com as mail from domain) all the mails are targeting spam folder even though all the DNS records are verified and present it is receiving in spam folder showing message as many people marked this message as spam but the it contains only a hi message.

And i also reviewed my content which is absolutely fine. I even tested with just a normal Hi message but it is also going spam.

I'm having doubt that only the mails which are received as via amazonses.com are going spam because when i tried to send through my own domain as mail from domain it is going inbox.
I have also received one marketing mail in my personal email ID which is sent through amazonses.com and its inbox which has same header and mail from domain in Reply to as my mail do and IP from amazon side is also fine and have good score without any blacklist.

So i couldn't figure out what is the problem from my side? Previously i sent updates to my 3 year old subscriber list at that time i got 1.3% bounce rate. will it be a reason that my mails are going to spam folder?

Is there any solution to solve this issue so that i can send via amazonses.com as mail from domain.

      Thanks,
      Abraham

  • Another thing you can do to improve you inboxing is to use Newsletters spam test by mail-tester.com

Every email you send, test it before you actually push the send button.

    • Hello Adrian,

      Thanks for the reply.

Sorry i forget to tell about the bounce in first message.
I'm using Amazon SES service to send updates and newsletters to my subscribers. Until last week the mails were delivering correctly to all my subscribers in inbox.

But once i sent updates to one of my mailing list which was 3 years old i got more than 1% bounce rate. So i stopped sending to that list. The mistake from my side is i didn't cleaned that list which may be a reason i hope. After that my mails are going spam folder and showing error message as many people marked similar message as spam.

I have tried sending to a gmail id, yahoo id, and hotmail. In all the id's it is spam.
I thought my newsletter content is the problem so i checked with my personal gmail mail id with just hi message. (example: Hey this is abraham )in content and subject. But that also going to spam showing same error message.

I have tried changing my sender address(sender domain) thinking that my sender domain was a problem but no result even sent from different sender address. All the DNS records are added correctly to my domain and perfect.

Also i thought that amazon ip's may be spam or blacklisted so i'm getting all the mails in spam folder. But once i received a marketing mail sent to my personal gmail id in inbox with the same amazon ip(one of the ip - 54.240.11.88) which i'm getting i found that amazon ip is not a problem.

So i need help that what could be done to bring my mail inbox? Please suggest me

      Thanks,
      Abraham
