MailChimp issue

Hi, everyone I'm setting up my first authority site and I'm having a problem with my campaigns . When sending a test campaign to a gmail email it arrives in the promotional inbox and not the primary...How do I change this? I have contacted support, but haven't heard from them.

  • i use it too...late delivery ,,,... too long to go into inbox
  • I have heard that when using an email address as the "from" address you should use an email address tied to your domain, such as support@mysite.com. Do not use a free email address as your "from" address. This is supposed to increase the deliver rate of the emails you send.
  • Do not use words and phrases that will trigger spam filters

  • It's promotional, so, if you set your gmail to separate messages, it will, and should, end up in your promotional group. Don't split the messages by type, and everything will go into your primary.

    I'm pretty sure Google will always be able to figure out that something sent by mailchimp and such companies is promotional in nature.

    So, the alternative, is to send from your gmail account or company account, one-by-one, so they look like they might be coming from a friend.

    Just to be clear, there's nothing in mailchimp that you can do to change this outcome. It's all from inside gmail.
