List Segregation - Advice Needed Please!

Hey guys,

So on and ff over the last few years I have sold a set of videos I create myself that solve a massively popular problem that a lot of people search for and by a lot I mean millions every month.

Trouble is it is a broad niche and has many questions which all revolve around the same solution. I have been simply selling the one solution as a one off.

However since joining I have read a lot of great advice on this forum and am ready to take my videos to the next step.

I already know what I am doing will convert because the product is tested, and is always in demand, however I am going to do things slightly differently this time and eventually sell the exact same system to people to set up themselves.

I will be setting up a funnel for the first time and capturing people's details then selling the video's in my follow up series. My funnel will go like this...

Lead Magnet - One free video specifically solving one of the micro part of the broad niche. I can have lots of these all targeting a different micro section.Basically I am going to try to capture as many people broad niche wide within each micro niche as I can.

Trip Wire - Mini video series priced reasonably low solving a broader set of problems within the niche.

Full Product - Complete video series with all of the bells and whistles expanding massively on the mini series.

Resale Rights - Complete converting funnel from start to finish for people to plug in and play themselves.

My question is how would I segment the list? Would I move each person to a new list as they move through the funnel or have maybe 3 lists or just 2 lists.

2 lists - Freebie optins and buyers.

3 lists - Freebie optins, buyers and people who want the system?

Thanks for your help in advance.

Kind regards,

Gary

    You could....

First...Send all your initial traffic to your freebie optin funnel

Then...Promote the Trip Fire videos to the people from that funnel and offer the Full Product and Resale Rights as Upsells.

For this scenario, your segmentation would be the following...

List 1 - Free Funnel optins

Promote the Trip wire products to that list and offer the Full course and Resale rights as upsell.

When you customer purchases the trip wire, then you move them to list 2.

List #2 would promote the Full course and the resale rights. When your customers purchase the Full course you would move them to list 3

List #3 would promote the resale rights products.

If your customer initial purchase was the Trip wire and full course they would go directly to list #3

I assume you know how to set this up using your autoresponder to automatically unsubscribe from 1 list when they subscribe to another list.

I hope I wrote this in a manner that's understandable...It may sound more confusing then it really is.

      Thanks for the answer,

It makes perfect sense the way you explained it to me.

I don't know how to automatically segment my subscribers from buyers yet, however since I am doing things in a better system now I have a lot of things to update. As such I will have plenty of time to figure that out.

I don't even know whether to go with get response or aweber yet either.

But once again thanks for sharing your answer with me, I really appreciate it.

The best method would not be segmentation. It would actually be list automation.

The video below explains how it's down in aweber.

Note: My original suggestion is based on using automation instead of list segmentation.

With Aweber it's a very simple process to make the list rules. You can also have multiple rules and for instance, if you promote the Tripwire to your freebie list but want to check out if they'd buy the Resell Rights product, you can easily set up that they're unsubscribed from your freebie list if they buy the bigger upsell.

Anyway, the previous reply is exactly what I would do as well and for when you decide to start up, best of luck!
