Email Marketing Tool For BEGINNERS

Hey there guys!

I have read a lot of reviews of email marketing tools such as icontact, aweber, getresponse, and mailchimp.

Yet, I can not decide which one of them are the best for beginners. Does it even matter if you are a beginner or not for choosing an appropriate email marketing tool?

Until now, I heard very good feedback on getresponse, but I want to know from you guys:

Which email marketing tool is best for a BEGINNER?

Try using aweber. They'ye very welcoming and provides really good service. It has all the tools you need to send emails right away. But it is still your choice. You could also try testing tools that are proven and see what works well with you.

Meh. AWeber is the gold standard. It's not bad, and its best feature is the really great support that they give, so you can get your questions answered pretty easily. But the truth is that AWeber is NOT very user-friendly.

MailChimp is pretty user-friendly, and I like MailChimp as an AWeber alternative. But by far the most user-friendly tool I've ever seen is GetResponse. I would suggest that you try MailChimp first as it's free for small lists; you can see if you like it or not. Then try GetResponse, and if that doesn't work, check out AWeber.

If you are just starting off, would suggest you to pick something that does the job for you and get started. As you move on, you would be able to make a better choice.

Mailchimp is free to start and is free till 2000 list size & comes with good integrable plugins,
Aweber is cheap to start and has got good reputation,
    Getresponse has a packaged solution.

There are many options to choose from, if you are paying for the service, you will be able to transfer your list from one to the other.

They all have their ups and downs. If you are just starting out, stick with the popular ones like aweber and getresponse. Once you learn how to properly do email marketing, go with a self-hosted option and an SMTP service or Amazon SES.

Thought I'd throw my hat into the ring on this one.

There really aren't any email marketing platforms "for beginners," but that doesn't mean any of the popular ones are particularly difficult to figure out. There's a lot of love for Aweber here, and they're fine. I personally prefer Constant Contact for some projects.

The best thing you can do is throw yourself into the deep end and start learning the platform that appeals to you the most. As others have mentioned, there's plenty of resources to learn -- it'll benefit you the most in the long run.

Probably the best advice in the thread:

I'd suggest Mailchimp if you're a beginner - it's a super easy to use program with a drag and drop functionality. I did sign up for an AWeber account to try it out, but I have used Mailchimp for so long, I didn't really gel with it.

It's a personal preference of course, my suggestion is Mailchimp for sure. There would be plenty of threads on here that will give you more tips if you do a search.

The web is very good in giving email marketing tools for beginners, given the fact that a hundred of websites offer free mail hosting. It is just essential for beginners to realize that employing email as a marketing strategy must be done with a concrete, comprehensive, and complete plan. While it is less expensive to get a free email address, it is absolutely ideal that the domain in the email address speaks the name of the online marketer's business.
Mailchimp has one of the best options for quality subject lines designed right into its campaign software.

    1. When it comes to picking the best email marketing tools, you cannot go wrong with iContact.
    2. The great thing about iContact is its excellent user interface - which makes it exceedingly easy to use. So, whether you are a beginner at email marketing, or a hardcore expert, you will just love working with this tool.
    3. One way to find out whether your email marketing tool is really good is to check out how it integrates with the other customer relationship management or CRM software that you own. iContact easily and seamlessly integrates with your other CRM software.
    4. It also integrates beautifully with any of your websites or with the lead collection methods employed by you.
    5. Also important while selecting the right email marketing tool is the social media integration, as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn are playing ever greater roles in email marketing. iContact is excellent in this area, providing an excellent, seamless integration with your social media platforms.

Try MailGun - 10,000/month for free, it's more about getting used to setting up campaigns and emails.

Overall, I like GetVero.com and GetResponse.com. But as I said, if you're just starting out then get used to sending emails and analysing your results based on "why you're emailing." Just don't be afraid to break something because more than likely, the support guys at any of the email marketing tools will help... or you can just ask here

    Hi schaschwin,
As you are a beginner, make sure you are clear about you short- and mid-term goal. If you are in this to get a feel of whether email marketing is for you or not in the first place, I'd go with a free solution first (MailChimp).
If you already know that you are going to be doing this for a while, then also consider trying out Aweber and (especially GetResponse). Both AW and GR have great features and surely equipped enough for someone starting out. I personally find GetResponse the best.
I have tested and used all 3 of them mentioned above. I'd start with MailChimp, if I were you and take it from there.

MailChimp is easy to set up and easy to use. If you are a start up business looking to get started with email marketing with the least amount of fuss, MailChimp should be part of your toolbox. It also offer free plan for very small businesses.

This is probably my individual favorite. You think your copywriting is clear and conversational? Wrong! Despite what Lupe Fiasco says, we need to dumb it down. We talk about our own products everyday, so we understand the terminology more than the average user or customer ever will.

    MailChimp
MailChimp also provides paid plans as an ESP, but its free service contains some pretty helpful features too. One of the more popular tools available from MailChimp is the Subject Line Researcher.

I've tried - Aweber, GetResponse, MailChimp and Sendlane.

I'd recommend GR - the interface is friendly and nice.

Aweber - I think solid deliverability rates and currently one of the best if not the most widely used ESP.

Mailchimp - it's great and beginner friendly but if you're looking to do affiliate marketing or anything similar they won't like it and ask you to leave.

Sendlane - prices are about the same as Aweber and GR but they have some automation features. Not sure about their deliverability rate though.

    Hope this helps.

Aweber, Get Response and others can be expensive for a beginner. You need to build an email list and start getting some money in before investing in those.

Try Listwiredotcom. It is a completely free autoresponder with all the facilities of the paid ones.

Once you have built a reasonable list, you can then transfer the subscribers to Aweber or one of the other autoresponders of your choice.

If we factor in all the various aspect then all of them have their pros and cons. However after extensive reading on the topic i have found that aweber can safely be recommended owing to its effectiveness. But if you have a low budget then you may have to look for some free services.

It does not really matter if you are a beginner or not when choosing an appropriate email marketing tool because regardless of if your a beginner or not you'll need to spend some time to get familiar with the UI anyway.

Even if you chose one with full marketing automation you could just use is as a simple autoresponder but at least you'd have the option of using the full marking functionalities in the future if you wanted.

Stop dithering or you'll get nowhere.

When I started, the autoresponder I was going to use was NOT at the top of my list of 'must do's'.

It is after all [you said yourself] just a tool.

What are you going to do, apart from which autoresponder you do it with, to get yourself started. What niche, what traffic method, how to deliver it, how to market it, what content to use in your emails, how you are going to engage, what products to offer.....oh AND IF YOU MANAGE TO DO ALL THAT...you can decide which autoresponder to use.

I've used aweber for 12 years...many others here have used it too.....so why not take my and their advice and get on?
