So basically you taught people how to purchase website and hosting and use the search function?

Could have done that in one paragraph- no need for the big fonts and ostentation.

He is simply laying out a little checklist that newbies can use to get started if they are worried about the amount of money it takes to get started.

Even if I agree with you that it is cheap to get started with the necessary tools, I would still recommend anyone to go for a paid hosting and a big autoresponder that is integrated with many other tools, like Aweber or GetResponse. We are talking about $20/month, and IMO, if you are not willing to spend $20/month on a business that is going to generate money for you, to get the best experience and tools, maybe you should reconsider making money online!

That is correct but for complete newbies tight for cash and inexperienced those $20 a month can soon add u if they are not making any money.

This is simply a very cheap reliable way to get started whilst learning and not have to worry about where their money for subscriptions is going to come from.

Furthermore $20 might not be much for you but people from certain countries could live for a week on $20. This could give genuine people who really want to start but simply can't justify spending their families essential funds a chance to do so.

Namecheap shared hosting is only about $4 per month, and Aweber has a free 30 day trial. So people can go the paid route for hosting and an autoresponder for much less than $20 a month.

This is a good baseline on how to build a list and get started.
I do agree with another posted above about using aweber or getresponse.
The issue is getting into the inbox of the major email providers is getting harder on the daily.
Working with a high end ESP is going to allow you to reach more of the inbox.

Oh don't get me wrong, I really do agree that paid is better. However for some people even a small amount of money is unattainable especially on a monthly basis.

I remember when I started online years ago and had no money. I had to complete surveys to raise money for a domain.

I'd never have been able to afford hosting and an auto responder... Regardless of how badly I wanted to get started it was well out of my reach.

I'm sure there are a few people on here out of the thousands of members in a similar situation. So hopefully I have helped even one of them.

What's worse is people banging the its only cheap to go paid drum... What's cheap for them, as I said earlier could amount to a large sum of money for some people.

In my opinion it's not right for random strangers on the Internet to make sweeping generalisations and basically say these people who can't afford to pay the "measly $20" for a paid solution have no right to be in the Internet marketing business.

It's just plain ignorant and goes against the very basis of a forum. You're supposed to be here to help. Not demoralise someone for things they may have no control over.

If this thread helps one such person start a profitable business it will have served it's purpose.

You are right with your suggestions. I've friends who have lost all in their lives and who needed to start something online only to have money to pay for their food. So all what they can use were free and when you don't know what is good and what isn't in the free "market", it's often a nightmare.

I've helped them as much as I was able to do and now some of them are able to pay high fees for great services online for their businesses and they make a really good living. without starting with only free services, it would be an other story for them.

Perhaps the most Important tool that will help you succeed In your online business is... An Autoresponder!

It's good that you suggested BenchmarkEmail, but they use a big logo showing that you're using them for FREE In every E-mail that you send.

Instead I suggest you to use Reachmail they have a FREE forever plan for up to 5000 subscribers and 15,000 monthly sends(much better than Benchmarkemail).

Heads up can only use black and no large fonts if you check the rules ' you have read them right" you can have any colour as long as black ! I would ditch the salesie look before they nuke it

There are no special rules for you or any one warrior other wise the place will look like a spam fest
