I Have a Few Questions on Solo Ads...

Hello

I am a bit confused on Solo Ads. I find it odd that many people don't really tell you the niche that their lists are in. I assume the list owners primarily people in the internet marketing space?

Also, why do I often see references to MLM ?

Is it best to send customers to an opt-in page? Is it ok to directly send customers to a sales page?

I have an offer that helps websites convert better. Its a wordpress plugin for webmasters to help them get more sales. Do you think going to Solo Ad providers would be a good method to sell this thing?

If someone has some wise words, it would be fantastic.

No, a list owner can be doing business in any niche. People that are in the IM niche should know about creating subscriber lists because that is where the concept it taught and emphasized. But really, web site owners in every niche would be smart to build lists.

It's because that industry is good at painting dreams and selling the idea that anyone can become rich quickly and easily by recruiting other people into their downline.

Most people don't buy on first contact, so I believe it's best to first get their name and email address so you can nurture them and contact them when you want. Many people like to "pre-sell" before referring someone to a sales page. If you send prospects to a sales page first you probably won't see them again.

You're focusing on the venue. IMO, you should focus on the target audience instead and sell to them no matter how you find them. Solo ad providers are one source of leads if the provider's audience is targeted to your niche. But solo ad providers in general niches are not what you want.

Target those web site owners that are best suited to your product. Any niche can have these people . . . that's why I'm saying you should target the niche participants and don't worry if the leads come from a solo ad provider. See out the end user (the owner - buyer).

    Thanks Steve.

Do you feel the term "solo ads" is something that is used primarily in the internet marketing / make money from home/online niche?

Most of the publicized solo ads are, in fact, for the IM, MMO niche. But there are many solos that can be had in other niches, you have to seek out the list and ask the owner if they would sell you a solo. It is a bit more difficult but can be worth the effort.

You will probably not be buying clicks like a regular solo as most of these people will not want to set up tracking or whatnot, if a deal is made they will probably just tell you how many people are on their list and you can make your deal from there

Most solo vendors have lists in the MMO/IM niche.

The reason that you see MLM in the description from vendors is because a lot of vendors will not let you send a solo ad to a MLM product.

If they allowed people to promote the most popular MLM products to their lists, then their lists would receive several offers from the same MLM product.

Most vendors will also not let you send their solo ad traffic to a sales page. They don't want to swarm their lists with a bunch of emails that are trying to sell them something.

Besides...You are not likely to get many sales by using solo ads to send your traffic to sales page.

You would be much better off by using solo ads to build your own email list and then email your subscribers your offers.

This will yield a better return of your investment in the long run.

    Not really.

Very few solo vendors will send to anything but a free offer.

Maybe, but not by you, at least not yet. If you have such basic questions then you are by no means ready to start buying solo ads. Educate yourself much better before you try.

Solo ads are seen as an easy way in by a lot of people. All you have to do is pay and send the vendor your link.

In reality it is tough to make solos profitable even with experience and a well-tested sales funnel.

The real tough part with solos is finding reliable vendors.

I suggest you proceed with extreme caution.

Solo Ads can be used to build a list for a variety of niches, mlm, make money online, forex, just to name a few

Usually the idea is to send traffic to a high converting landing page (30% or higher optin rate is good) so you can capture prospects info, some may purchase your product right away, but the majority of sales will be made over time. This is why you build an email list

    Hope this helps!
