I'm struggling to build a Email list

What industry are you in and what other marketing activities are you doing to build your list. Some of my client's have built their list by attending trade shows and conferences and getting sign ups via a giveaway. Have you got a landing page or signup form set up on your website? Honestly going from 200 to 20,000 is a huge leap to do organically, so you will need to sit down and work out a marketing plan for the next 12 months. If you can share your industry we might be able to help with some suggestions.

Determine a common problem your niche has and solve it for free. AKA your lead magnet. Then start writing lot's of articles leading back to your squeeze page that is giving away your solution for free.

As gingerninjas said earlier, provide your industry category to give us more insight on how to help you out.

Also, try using more of video ads and google ad's to help publicize yourself and then you would be able to achieve the amount of contact you requested.

As has previously been asked of you, to let us know your industry would be a great help.

I can offer a couple of tips for growing your database organically, however they may not all be practical for your industry so please bear with me. I also agree that it's a big jump, however 20,000 emails isn't out of the realms of possibility with a long-term strategy and some serious effort on your part.

I'm assuming you have a website so have you tried any of the following lead magnets?

Create a simple eBook:
Designing a ten-page eBook on your area of expertise and asking for email addresses before downloading is a great lead magnet. If you're not a writer and you have some budget, there are plenty of copywriters and content creators out there who can help.

Create a cheat sheet.
This is like a longer version of a blog giving people solutions to a problem they have. Without knowing your industry I can't suggest what that could be, but I'm sure you can come up with some suggestions

Video training.
Depending on your industry, offering video learning packages could be another option.

Discount products or shipping.
If you have something for sale in an online store, discounting products or shipping in exchange for an email address can work well.

Create a quiz.
People just love to know how clever they are! Add a quiz to your page and once people have completed it, ask them for their email address to send them the response. They've put the hard work in so there's no way they'll say no to that. Be careful with this one that your quiz or survey is relevant to your industry, otherwise it will be a pointless exercise as they will unsubscribe as soon as they receive your first email.

If you want to respond with your line of work, I may be able to help further however there's a few pointers to get you going. Remember that organically, this won't happen overnight so you need to be patient and work within the realms of a longer term strategy.

One way to generate an organic list could be posting articles and blogs on your website about your business and related issues, news and problems. Let these content lead the visitor/reader to your squeeze page where you should incentivize subscription.

I would suggest making use of Youtube - it's a huge search engine, where many people go to find solutions to their problems. If you post videos regularly, and optimize them correctly, then you can build up a good audience and new subscribers.

Bit confused here. Is Traffic Crow your site? If it is I don't understand why you're asking how to get traffic when you own a site on how to get traffic!

However, to answer the question specifically, if you want traffic you have to create a squeeze page to collect names and email addresses. The squeeze page must be advertised where you can reach a targeted audience in your niche.


Getting traffic can be obtained by two methods, paid and free traffic. My blog may give you some ideas.

Sending traffic is the hard part, there are plenty of ways to get traffic to your landing page, Say Paid Traffic, Free Traffic you should test different advertising channels and focus your efforts on the best channel.

1. How quickly do you want to get to 20k?
2. How much are you willing to invest to reach your goal of 20k? Both in terms of money, effort and time?

Viral content or product launches could get to your goals very quickly.
Guest posting and other activities will get you there albeit a bit slower.. so it really depends on how much time and money you have to reach that goal.
