How do you create your email lists?

Hi all,

Just a question regarding how do you all form/compile/collect your email lists?

I am asking how have you physically stored the email address from your landing/squeeze pages?

Are you running code on your website to insert it into a private database? Are you using an online service to store them? Are you being charged to store them?

Would love to know some information on this! Could you share how you're collecting + forming your email lists?

Well, personally I use online services to store my e-mails, but I do export them as well to have local copies just in case. As for the methods of getting them, the usual (offering free downloads, promotions & etc.)

What service do you use? And how much are you currently paying (if you do)?

Which would you reckon is the most popular? I'll take a look into it!

Thanks for all the replies! Appreciate it.

I have personally used Aweber and GetResponse. Both charge on how many subscribers you have.

For Aweber it's $19/mo for up to 500 subscribers.
For GetResponse its $15/mo for up to 1000 subscribers.

Both are very good services and have good platforms. I would encourage you to check them both out.

    Hey MailPit,

It's pretty standard to use an email service. Most of them have online software you can use to build email forms that plug right into your site via html. These forms acquire the email address of your prospect and send it to a saved list of subscribers who have opted in.
From there you can manage your list online and send them automated messages or personal messages however you like.

A couple great services you can look into are:

    1. Aweber
    2. GetResponse
    3. Mail Chimp

    Hope that helps.

I have a relevant question about the topic. How do you get the visitors to fill the form and give the information that is required? Because personally i feel these subscription popups to be very annoying and nearly 90% of the time i close them without actually reading or giving a second thought to the request.

You will feel that way if you are not interested to their offer. But there are people who actually sign up on this forms because they want to become a part of the email list of the provider and get regular updates about their products/services.

You have to target people correctly and make sure your funnel is aligned... that is, you should get traffic from relevant sources and funnel them into an opt-in page with a relevant offer. I find it that people are more than willing to provide their email addresses as long as you can provide something that they can benefit from.

Thanks for all the feedback. I've been taking a look at the pricing to see how much they charge.

Does anyone know of any service that simply lets me create the 'lists' and export them - rather than using their email templates and online email service etc?

I have a program which I can import email lists into - so I don't need to send emails from any service - does anyone know of anything like this? Simply just to form the list and to export it - not do anything with it as such?

If you're on a tight budget and can't yet afford Aweber or Get Response, try Listwire(dot)com.
    It's a free autoresponder.

I use an email marketing software called eFlyerMaker. I simply post my sign-up form on my website and it's automatically linked to my account. So when someone subscribes, his address is automatically added to my list as soon as he confirms his double opt-in status. Whenever I need it, I simply export the CSV file of my list to my cpu. They even have specialized sign up form for Facebook, WordPress and Magento.
    Enjoy!

i keep them in a database i built, aggregated through my various sites like bonusemails and the onlinecashgiveaway. They offer small pennies for it's users to sign up and get emails sent to them, so it's targeted towards people who want to make money, who want to get emails about money, and who are willing to spend time to learn about money making online. It's worked wonderfully, and I've built thousands of solid customers through it.

We can use MailChimp's email marketing platform on your list, which stores your subscribers' contact details and preferences. We will need to create a list and its default settings before you can import existing or collect new subscribers.

I personally have used Sendlane but now switched to aweber. Both have a monthly cost, but in my opinion are definetely worth if you want to have a serious online business.

You could also start out with Mailchimp since it is free for up to a certain amount of subscribers. The problem with a free Mailchimp account is that you can not send an automated emailsequence.

Usually people are giving something of value for free to get the email address. If you don't want to create something yourself, you could be using something called PLR (Private Label Rights) Where you basically pay for the rights to use the content. Some sites where you could get plr from would be idplr(.)com, buyqualityplr(.)com, plrassassin(.)com.

    Hope that helps

I love this question. I had a product built for me but it can be any product or a course you have built. So I fine a problem first a big problem the bigger the better. I then find the answer to that problem. Now I make a video of me solving that problem or have software built to solve the problem Then I put the answer in front of people having the very same problem It works Robert

I like rocket responder because it is 20/month and never more. This way I am not penalized for growing a big list. I make my own squeeze pages and I also use Instant Squeeze Page Generator for my ethical bribes and other squeeze pages.

Aweber is great for an autoresponder. Mailchimp ha a good free version. You can create an optin and have it just send you an email to your google or whatever domain you have. From there you can export a list.
