Difficult to change autoresponder? & How to best start as I mean to go on?

Hi, I'm new to all this but I have attended a couple of courses etc.

I'm just starting out and want to set things up right from the start. I have heard from a few business coaches that it is advisable to choose your autoresponder well from the get go as they say it's difficult to change once you've already started (eg Anik in his book 'Circle of Profit' 2015).

Another IM coach person said that if you intend to sell your OWN products, (which in time I do certainly intend to,) then that it is best to start with an all-in-one type shopping cart/autoresponder etc from day 1 (eg 1Shopping Cart) for the above same reason. She did say this a little while ago so maybe things have changed since. Also one of Aniks courses mentions deliverability being lower by all-in-one services such as the above..

At first I intend to start off building my community/list and nurturing it, while also recommending some quality relevant affiliate offers to them. Then I will in time create my own products. I don't want to be starting one way and then running into issues if I have to change. I want to set things up from the start to suit my starting level but to also be able to expand and sell my own products too in the future (with a payment facility)

I must keep costs down in the early stages so cannot afford (or need) platforms like Infusionsoft or even clickfunnels which seems to have everything but at 297 a month.
I'm not very techie so will need to outsource tech help, so ideally am looking for a system that will be relatively user friendly.

I am experienced and qualified in the area that I will be marketing in (Health). I intend to set up with a brand from the word go and intend to have a 'regular' website too

I would really appreciate advice from advanced members regarding the best way to move forward from the start on this...

Is it best to start with an all-in-one shopping cart (which includes an autoresponder) or is there a better way for me to move forward which will cover what I need now and still can expand with me including being able to take payments directly for my own products (not just paypal) and for it all to work well together?

Many thanks in advance!

It is very easy to move, if you had to.

I would just get an autoresponder and not worry about all the other stuff!!!

Thanks for your response Diablo...so I wonder why Anik and another IMer says it is then? Have you done a move yourself?

Do you yourself sell your own products and if so what system do you use re autoresponder and cart? Many thanks for your help

If you read Anik's book then you know he suggest using Sendlane.

So if anything run with that, it'll help keep your cost down as well because they have landing page templates within them.

      Thanks Isaiah

Yes I realise he recommends his own company but that doesn't solve the whole payment thing. When I asked sendlane they said:
''We don't have shopping cart options on our platform. However, other clients use programs like Shopify, which you could look into. We have the beta app link you can try when setting that up with the Shopify support'':

Sendlane are relatively new and I don't like the idea of Beta apps (as above)..I believe they don't always work well..Their response doesn't sound very convincing ('try' etc)

I'm wary of using a new company especially as all of Aniks emails to me end up in my junkmail even though I have said not junk a few times and open them sometimes (not all because there are loads and I also get triplicats of them...must be that I'm on 3 separate lists)

If I choose a separate autoresponder I'll probably choose one that's around longer and more established (even if it costs a bit more)

I'm really looking for help with how to move forward in choosing an autoresponder and knowing how I'll be taking payments for when I sell my own products too (not just affiliate prods) eventually. Thanks

    You have to choose ActiveCampaign.

It fits all you have asked for.

It doesnt have landing page creator, but the sendlane landing page creator is very poor, you cannot customize it, change picture in the background etc....

So what i advise you to do is what im doing myself: ActiveCampaign + Leadpages.

For shopping cart you can also rely on Shopify as Sendlane's support said: it's good and in this year shopify gained a lot of popularity.

You can write promote post on fb with a connection on shopify, and sell items while collectin emails too.
