How did you build your list?

what is the most effective strategy you have use to capture emails?

how many emails did it generate you?
How long did it take you to get that amount of emails?
and what is the click rate of the email as you got from generating them that way?

I use solo ads from sellers on udimi(dot)com. Clicks are usually very good. But don't try to send straight to a sales page. Use a landing page to capture emails. You can also go to Facebook and type in the search bar 'Solo ad testimonials'

My best conversion-rate was when I sent personal messages to people complaining that they were not getting enough sales, on a forum, saying that I might be able to help. With that approach, I got 3 replies from my first 4 messages, and 1 of them bought leads from me.

But obviously, that's a manual approach, difficult to upscale effectively.

One of my best lists is a list of buyers of one of my IM products. In general that would make a good, responsive list (if the product is high quality). So that's one way to build a really good list!

I'd also advise considering buying leads instead of Solo Ads. They are both around the same price, but with Solo Ads, you know for sure that the members are on at least one other list, and if the list-owner is selling Solo Ads to you, they are likely to be selling them to a lot of other people too, so the members you get are likely to be on a lot of lists. Most people don't have unlimited budget to spend, so each list they are on, is effectively getting a only a small share of their budget . . . the more lists, the smaller the share. Compare that to buying original sign-ups specifically for your own list, where you are not buying from another list, for about the same price as a Solo ad. The responsiveness of the members from different sources might be significantly different, as you'd expect.
