Besides doing a sale, what else can I do to create excitement for my list?

Hey guys,

So I usually make the most money with my own products whenever I carry out a little 3-day sale.

It works well because everybody likes a sale right? Especially with the scarcity and all.

I was just wondering what other ways I can go about to create excitement to make people really want to buy stuff from me?

Is there any other legit way to put forth scarcity?

It'd be awesome to create the same excitement as a sale for say, every week, but I really don't know how to go about it without coming across as repetitive or unbelievable.

Would appreciate some new ideas!

Thanks.

How about free giveaways? Perhaps the give away can go with the sale or maybe before it to create an extra buzz.

So are you just putting these sales up on your web site? Or are you sending your sale notifications to a list(s)?

Do you maintain segmented lists so that you don't wind up sending a special sale notification to someone next week... who bought at full price last week?

Do you have affiliates promoting products on your behalf?

Take this product life cycle and experiment with it a little over the next 6 mos. to a year

Create a brand new product priced at $37 or more, so that you can mail everyone on your lists with an introductory offer at your pre-launch price (i.e. discounted 50%)... essentially, a time-sensitive sale for a brand new product that no one on your list has seen yet.

    It is
    1. new/unique
    2. discounted (i.e. introductory price)
    3. scarce (time sensitive and only for YOUR list)

Note - You will NEVER offer this product at this price, EVER again!!

Segment the buyers of this product onto a brand new buyers list.

Just before the end of the introductory offer ends, be sure to mail a "last chance" offer to your non-buyers list.

Immediately after the introductory period - notify your affiliates about your new product, and allow them to offer that product to their lists at a discounted rate (say 25% off of list price).

The same list of benefits above applies for their lists. They're just not getting quite as large a discount

Assuming you removed your buyers from your previous list (so that you now have a buyers list and a non-buyers list... you can give your non-buyers another chance to buy at the same price your affiliates are offering to their lists.

Other than "pre-launch" time, NEVER offer a product directly to your own non-buyers that is lower than what your affiliates can offer that same product to their lists.

Just before this offer ends, mail another "last chance" offer to your non-buyers list, and remind your affiliates to do the same.

Immediately after this sale, raise the product to full price.

Breathe now... and compose an email to your buyers list asking for feedback (testimonials) on your product. For the really good feedback, ask for permission to use the feedback in your marketing efforts, and ask them for a head shot to use with the testimonial. Add the testimonials to your sales page.

Once a week, for the next month or so, send related info in almost any form (i.e. news items, mini reports, links to articles/blog posts that will be of interest). Included in these emails you might also send one of your older products as a "freebie"... essentially a customer appreciation bonus. (Note - If planned ahead of time, this can all be set up in an autoresponder sequence).

    You're building a relationship.

After 3 or 4 of those relationship builders... send a backend offer for one of your older products. Note - these special offers can be discounted, customer only offers - and do not have to be available for your affiliates to promote

That doesn't mean that you can't also, occasionally, create special sales (for holidays, etc.) where you also let your affiliates offer the sale to their lists, but a large slice of your backend offers should be customer only offers that only you promote.

Always have an reason to use as an excuse for your sale. Holidays, back-to-school, in certain markets even your own birthday can be an excuse for a sale.

    __________________________

    Rinse and repeat!

Create another new product and perform the above steps all over again.

Tailor this to your own market and specific to your list.
Keep track of what works best and modify the plan as you go.

    Hope this helps.

You can do that in many ways through effective call to action strategies.

    1. Put up a product on the site and circulate the statement that after a certain date you won't be able to buy the product at that particular price.

    2. Buy 1 and get the other one at 25% or 50 % off.

    3. Refer to a friend a get a chance to enter in a lucky draw.

    4. Buy in bulk and get a certain % off ( based on your margin) .

......... and more. Statements like these can really spice up the response from your clients. Good Luck.

    Cheers-James
