Email marketing in an oversaturated market

In this day and age with nearly everyone building an email list on some MMO topic is it still wise to get my share of the pie in building a list on the subject of "Email Marketing" Or would it be unwise due to the saturation in that field?

Primarily I'm thinking of building a list through solo ads as it's an easy way to go.

Please share your thoughts, I'm looking forward to that

There is a big world outside of MMO.

I monetize data (email) by promoting PPL (pay per lead...lead generation) offers. With PPL, there is no credit card / purchase required. All a user has to do is fill out form, so conversion are typically much higher than offer that require a sale to be made.

I favor offers that have a make, get or save money benefit to them. That is what has worked well for me.and they tend to havethe greatest mass appel. So the potential to generate high volume exists.

The bulk of the offers that I promote pay $20-$40 per lead. However, there are offers that pay more / less that convert well too. While the payout is obviosly important, the average conversion rate is just as muc, if not more. You could have an offer that pays $8-$9 and if it converts at 2X+ of a $20 offer, they will perform about the same. Where if you have an offer that pays $90-$100 and it converts poorly, it may not even be worth running.

Some verticals that I have done well with are: insurance, education, mortgage, loans, debt, credit, assistance, homeowner offers, etc...

Any given day, there are millions of people looking for a quote or more information. You don't have to sell a thing, they just have to fill out a form. IMO and experience...it beats the crap out of MMO!

BTW, I have been doing it for over 16 year. So it really does work.

    Anyway, something to think about.

    Saturated market according to who?

I have seen competitive markets but never a saturated one. It's just not possible to saturate a market. As people leave a market, new people come in. This includes both buyers and sellers.

Now many people will tell you a market is saturated because they are afraid of competition. Competition is actually good for a market.

  • Be different
    Have a polarised approach
    Reject the status quo
    Be authentic

Do those 4 things and you have a greater chance of standing apart from other marketers inside your subscribers inbox.

Competition is less of a concern when you're not the same as everyone else.

Make of that what you will.

Come up with different 'bait' to build your list

For example: offer a free productivity tool that harvests people's email

    Here's an example : https://chrome.google.com/webstore/d...nhbfjfkdndfjof

The key is to get the attention of people who are IN YOUR NICHE and offer them something VALUABLE (not a one shot ebook or report) that be a GATEWAY to constant communication - in the example I mentioned above, the marketer uses update emails from the activities of the plugin

The key is to get permission to send updates that tie in to specific activities/goals of your audience

Markets are competitive not saturated as mentioned above. If your content is engaging and email open rates are going smoothly then it means that you are doing something different from your competitor. This difference differentiates you in the market. Therefore always keep your content top notch. That's the key
