Hi -

Was wondering if any of the seasoned IM'ers had any insight into this. While can't share the niche (a specific niche I am trying something with that has been profitable before, created a new site/getting new signups to it) - I have a list I've been doing some tests with (small list, about 400 people, obtained through PPC ads -> opt-in form).

a) I have the 'free' resources/teaching/etc that I give the list. I seem to get a good open rate (about 10%), and depending on the content, a decent clickthrough rate (about 25%).
b) I can e-mail my list 5x/day, and consistently get that open & clickthrough rate. (No unsubscribes). Sometimes I e-mail them with things I find and want to share, some of it is part of the autoresponder series.

BUT... If I ask them to take action towards a purchase - OR - even offer to give the product away for free - OR - even offer to give away free cash just simply for e-mailing me - NOTHING. It is the most peculiar situation. No e-mail response. No forum posts. Nothing.

I don't "believe" I have bots signing up for my list (seems to be USA based IP addresses, from a reputable source), nor do I believe it's bots opening and clicking links in the newsletters...

So I have no idea exactly what is going on... Have you ever experienced that, and/or have any insight as how to get the list to actually respond? (I.e., send an e-mail, make a forum post, etc?)

Does this really sound like humans to you?

Usually did you get clicks from your sales emails?

If you do get clicks from the other emails but you don't get clicks from these emails, then maybe your sales emails include a heavy marketing language that sends them straight to the spam folders.

If you get clicks also from the sales emails, then taking into account the other details (emailing 5 times a day, no unsubscribes, etc) I would seriously consider the possibility of having a nice list of bots

  • Hi,

The source is bing ads. (I don't do google any more because they did some dishonest things).

But... I could understand bots "potentially" signing up for the e-mails... But... to actually click links, and/or open messages? I know its "possible", but for what purpose? Doesn't make sense to me...

Hmmmm... I wouldn't send an email to my list 5 times a day. IMO, this may be too much, and sometimes may even be considered spammy practice.

  • Uh, it's just a test.

Strange thing now is I finally "kind" of got a little bit of feedback - (like 3 people out a 500 list) - and I don't know if the bing ads are just really bad, or what - but even though the ip addresses are USA based, they talk (write) as if they were east indian.

I.e., extremely broken english that makes no sense... so I'm not sure what's going on...

    Just a little frustrating...
