What is the cheapest autoresponder service around?

I have been looking on aweber, getresponse, madmimi and mailerlite.
Mailerlite is the cheapest I found but it doesn't allow affiliate marketing.
Aweber, getresponse is too expensive for me right now.
Madmimi is somehow the best bet but I am not sure if this is a good service to use for affilaite marketing.

I tried listwire just now. I didn't like the interface. I am trying getresponse for 30days and see if I can build a list and sell within that time frame.

Are you also familiar with mailerlite? some says it allows affiliate but some says they use it, so I am confuse.

    Hey buddy,

You can check out mailchimp. They offer their services for free upto 2,000 subscribers, and a certain amount of emails.

But you will want to invest into your business later on.

    Hope this helps.

Are you just starting out with email marketing or you already have a big list?

If Aweber's pricing of $19/month for up to 500 subscribers is too expensive for you, then possibly you should do some freelancing or blogging to build up your budget and then spend money on list building?
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[10898841].message }}
    • Profile picture of the author rccnls27
Yes, I will build a budget, I spent most of mu budget on buying tools like themes and plugin instabuilder. I still don't have any list yet I am just starting out.

What do you recommend a way to get list without much budget?

I really wish I could, but most probably I only need to gather list and send email series. That's pretty much it. Do you recommend something cheaper?

Thanks, But as far as I know they don't allow affiliate too

Why don't you look for the one that has all the features you want instead of basing your decision on price.

It's not hard to switch autoresponders once you get established.
I know of several marketers who started out with Mailchimp and once they got close to max free subscribers, they switched to a better service. Mailchimp doesn't have all the bells and whistles as say, AWeber, but if you're just getting started you probably wont be ringing any bells or blowing any whistles yet anyway.

Take one of the 30 day free trials and start building leads. If you cannot make back the $30 per month the autoresponder costs, you may want to rethink if list building is for you or not?

Trying to save money with an autoresponder is like stepping over bills to pick up pennies.

As webbie said, cheaper doesn't mean better, especially when dealing with such a crucial function of your online business.

Stick with trials to start with or MyMail ($30 Wordpress plugin). Eventually, you will want to upgrade to the real deal, though.

I had my best results in every online business I have owned with Mailchimp. They aren't the most expensive, but their deliverability rate is truly incredible. Not sure if they still ban affiliate marketing, though. If they do, you'll have to be incredibly careful when mailing out.

However, without affiliate marketing as an allowed category of clients, it's pretty easy to see why deliverability rates are so high. Affiliate marketing headlines alone are enough to lower global deliverability rates on a network.

Mail Chimp has a free option but you're limited to how many emails you can send per month. I would spend a little money and go with Aweber for $19 a month.

I understand that getting the best autoresponder services out there can really burn a hole in your pocket. However, there are still reputable service providers out there that are cost-efficient. It basically depends on how much you are willing to spend and how broad the services you require are.

As a tip, always remember that the best services allow you to send out emails and manage your email lists. If you are just starting out, you can turn to free service providers such as Mailchimp or Listwire.

Now, if you are not satisfied with the services these platforms provide, it is best that you try out blogging first so you can generate a budget for a decent email service provider. The truth is, online success is highly reliant on your ESP, so it is always best that you generate enough funds for it.

    Hope this helps

We don't use email auto responder, but we are using text auto responder.

We use a lot of keywords and autoreply for our campaign.

e.g. MORE keyword -> send MORE detail message
STOP keyword -> send sorry message
Interesting -> send the promotion message
    .....

so text automation save us a lot of time.

Use the free one from aweber, getresponse and mailchimp and start from there since you don't have a list yet you can build it there. Then if your list grows and your strategy worked. Then It's not very hard to switch autoresponders.

It's been my experience that when it comes to autoresponders, you will get what you pay for.

A lot of people recommend TrafficWave because it's priced at $17 per month no matter how many subscribers you have, and I don't believe there is a limitation on how may emails you can send per month (I could be mistaken).

HOWEVER, I found it damn near impossible to get out of the spam folder, especially with Gmail. Lately, even Aweber and GetResponse are having a difficult time with their deliverability when it comes to Gmail. Yahoo mail, Hotmail, Aol, etc, seem to be getting inboxed pretty easily, but Gmail is a different story indeed.

Recently, I've learned a whole bunch of new "hot" words that will cause your email to go to spam with Gmail, including, but not limited to:

Google, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Fiverr, money, cash, loot, income, make money, make money online, internet marketing, affiliate marketing, affiliate, Amazon, making money, newbie, newbies, instant, commissions, bank account, PayPal, bank, make bank, crush it, kill it, earn money, online business, internet business, marketing, traffic generation, traffic, email marketing, video marketing, search engine, search engines, SEO, SERPS, Warrior Forum, Microsoft, software, buy, order, sell, push-button, instantly, earn cash, part-time income, online surveys, mouse clicks, fast cash, MLM, multi-level marketing, pyramid, spam, can-spam act, attention, low prices, prices, consumer, your account, etc.
Also, some spam filters can be triggered by sloppy code or code pulled in from Microsoft Word. I don't recommend constructing your email in Microsoft Word and then copying and pasting. I usually construct my emails right in the autoresponder's built in editor or I use notepad.

Well, I didn't mean to turn this post into an education on spam trigger words but I have found through a process of trial and error by testing email message spam scores with my GetResponse account that leaving out just one or some of those words in my emails can mean the difference between my email getting inboxed, going to the "promotions" folder, or ending up in the spam folder.

As to the OP's original question, you basically have three choices for optimum deliverability and functionality, and those are Aweber, GetResponse, or MailChimp. They are the 3 industry leaders, hands down.

When it comes to the "Internet/Affiliate Marketing" niche, which is really not a niche at all but a general marketing concept which includes any type of marketing which is done on the Internet, MailChimp can be a very poor choice. When most people refer to the "Internet or Affiliate Marketing niche," what they are really talking about is the "Biz Opp/MMO" (business opportunity/make money online) niches.

These niches can encompass many areas, not limited to but including YouTube marketing, product creation, WordPress & software development, email marketing, blogging, article marketing, PTC sites, traffic exchanges, safelists, banner exchanges, MLMs, paid surveys, SEO services, Fiverr sellers, freelance writers, PLR & MRR marketers, Forex, etc.

As I said, if you are going to be heavy into affiliate marketing, I would avoid MailChimp entirely. Unless you are extremely careful, you will get shut down for the slightest offence, real or perceived. They are extremely strict when it comes to protecting their deliverability, and who can blame them? Now, I'm not saying that they cannot be used if you are an affiliate marketer, as I hear there are many affiliates using them successfully. However, I firmly believe the niche you are promoting makes all the difference in the world, and many AR services are wary about the "biz opp/MMO" niches, and some outright don't allow them at all. You can thank all of the bad actors, abusers, and spammers who have ruined it for all of ethical marketers in those niches (which is the majority of them).

Aweber and GetResponse are great for affiliate marketers and have been faithfully serving this community for years. Now, this is under no circumstance a license to sign up and think that you can just willy-nilly send out any email you like and completely disregard their TOS. Both Aweber and GetResponse have gotten much more strict within the past 6 months, and from what I've heard, that's because they were both taken advantage of by scammers who did not do any good for their deliverability rates. I've heard they have now rectified the problem, and continue to work proactively so it won't happen again, and that is in fact showing in the greatly improved deliverability rates I've experienced with both of them in the past two months.

Bottom line, Aweber and GetResponse are the best at what they do. If you can learn the right way to use them and not abuse or break their TOS in any way, you will enjoy a great working relationship with them, and your business will flourish.

If you start using shady ways to build your list, such as doing ad swaps and buying other forms of shady traffic, then you won't last very long with them. They will quickly label you a spammer and decide it's not in their best interest to do business with you, and who could blame them?

Here is a great list of "spam words" that you should avoid using in your email messages:

The Ultimate List of Email SPAM Trigger Words

Also, this MailChimp article is a nice resource to help you understand how spam filters work, and hopefully this article will help you to understand the process so you can write your emails accordingly:

    https://mailchimp.com/resources/guid...-filters/html/

In summary, don't go after a cheap autoresponder, because that's exactly what you'll get.

    Hope this post helps.

can you really afford to have a second rate backbone?

in the long, the second rate option is going to cost you a lot!

[ DECISION on PRICE? WORST THING! ]

Dont let the price make you the worst decision possible.

    Email Marketing IS your asset.

The most important tool in your business maybe: do you want to base all these on
    a stupid decision?

You have what you pay for.

    BUT

Fortunately there are some tools which not cost so much and
    are good for beginners too.

Like ActiveCampaign or SendLane. Try them.

    OR

SendinBlue which is FREE til a decent amount of mails,
    not based on subscribers.

Rocket Responder is best, hands down. They have a simple to use system. It has advanced features if you want them. You can send HTML nessages and they have some great templates for that. The best part for me was that they only charge a flat fee. All the other ones charge more as your list grows. Rocket Responder is only $20/Month ever. No increase for list increase so there is no penalty for growing your list.

If you want the cheapest email marketing provider, make sure the price won't increase the more subscribers you get. Most major autoresponders like Aweber and Getresponse will charge you based on the number of subscribers on your list.

Trafficwave, Rocket Responder, and AIOP allow you to have unlimited subscribers for just a low monthly fee (under $20). You can also send unlimited emails for the same low monthly fee.

    Stay away from free autoresponders.
