I'm trying to warm up my IPs and send safely without getting blacklisted. I currently have 64 IPs with 8 domains all rotating. I've read that a good safe sending rate is about 150 sends per IP per oIhour. Am I safe to send 150 per hour over 24 hours per IP or should I send at optimal times at 150 per IP for about 2 hours?

Domain Rotation is not allowed. you can use all 64 ips with 1 domain.

you can start with 2000 emails per day per IP per ISP.
double up every 3 or 4 days.

its really about the list you're sending to. make sure its highly engaged data.

Thanks a bunch man. Should I split those 2000 per IP over 24 hours or should i do it all within a few hours?

I would think it to be best to distribute the load

Just make sure it's a clean list - clear of bounces.

Bounces will hurt your reputation while subscriber engagement will help increase it...

Check your domain every so often at SenderScore.com

As mentioned above, send about 10% of normal volume, ramping up each day.

2 weeks is usually a good recommended "warm up" period.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers,

Thanks for the advice guys. For some reason, all 64 of my IPs ended up on Spamhaus the first blast. List is highly engaged opt ins, I got only 11 hard bounces out of my send to 35,000, sending 2 mails per minute per IP, rotating subject lines, content, IPs, domains. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong that is getting me blacklisted so quickly?

That's a lot spread over 64 IPs? That's only 546 people per IP - about 1500 less than what was suggested to send daily per IP.

You're right, doesn't seem like much. Even that small amount can be too much for day one - which is likely why you ended up on blacklists so quickly...

First day I had my server up I think I sent 3 emails per IP... Didn't send to all my contacts until about 2 weeks...

For me, the easiest way was to setup autoresponders - then just put in a few segments of contacts each day. This gradually ramped up the volume without much extra work.

For the first few days I would try to stay under 100 new emails a day per IP... Just think about it in the eyes of the ESP - All they see is a brand new IP sending 500+ emails on day one - they don't know you or the IP - instant red flag to them.

          Hope this helps. Good luck.

          Cheers,
          Coby

P.S. Also - the source of your IPs is something to consider as well.

Blacklisting depends on number of factors.
      1- high sending rate
      2- lower ip reputation
      3- lower domain reputation
4- email list contains spam traps or honeypots
      5- server configuration not good
      6- authentication issues

there are few more factors too, above are most considerable factors.

It varies for each ISP. AOL you'll want to mail very slowly for example.

please before start the warm up precess, you need to check if your data list s clean or not, most of blacklisted addresses or bounces are due to dirty mailing list

you can check your IP with senderscore from return path
it's free and might give you a rough idea what caused the blacklisting

    your IPs were clean?
I got some "clean" IPs no blacklist showed up on running blacklist checks but in reality they were already blocked on some smaller isp lik at&t, verizon, etc

Every ISP has a differnt speed threashold. We use differnt configurations for different TLDs. Try to divide your taffic into different MTAs and each mta should have different speeds. then keep adjusting the speeds based on acceptability of your content.

    Gmail : 100 per hour
    Yahoo : 200
    AOL: 50

    ATT Verizon : 30
    Signature
BulkResponse.com Email marketing service , single and double optin accounts. List Hygiene Service Available.
