List of 15,000 Need to Monetize

I have a list of 15,000 subscribers that signed up to receive an ebook on natural solutions to dog allergies. I haven't spent a lot of time monetizing the list.

Note: I can't use amazon because of the state I live in.

Looking for thought on reviving the list and soliciting ideas as to what to sell.

Thoughts?

-Paul

Seeing as you’ve curated a list of dog-lovers. I’d suggest sticking to that niche.
Specifically, dog-lovers who also are interested in natural/organic solutions.
They’d probably be interested in all organic dog treats or toys?
    Hope that helps!

I've tried some of this with limited success. It seems hard to generate a "campaign" around dog treats that cost $9.99, of which I make $1 for instance.

I've recently started looking into the prospect of selling dog treats myself and just dealing with the inventory and shipping in the short term until I see how well it sells.

Would be interested in your thoughts of how to advance the buyers into more expensive products.

Better to produce the 'World's Best Organic Anti-Allergenic Dog Treats.' Sell them for $9.99 and make $8.99 on every sale.

        Life is short. Go long!

I have Aweber, so mailing isn't a problem. I'm more interested in sending promotion emails to the list, along with other valuable information that is geared toward future promotions.

I'm just having trouble figuring out what to send, frequency, etc. I also don't understand what data to capture so I can follow-up with non-buyers, etc.

And when dealing with affiliate products it's hard to create a buyers list.

The question is: Is your list responsive? What are your opens and clicks rates? Where are your list members coming from? How did they opt into your list? Do you have a website? Are your sales funnels functional?

I wouldn't sell any product for a commission of 10% like the one you describe above. There are hundreds of products you can get 25%-75% and a dog owner would find strongly interesting, but this would only happen if your list was responsive.

15,000 sounds big, but if your list members come from Indonesia, or if you get a 1% click rate, then this means your sales page gets only 150 clicks, which could end up bringing 3-5 sales, if your landing pages conversions rate is 3%.

So, to help you out, I would need some more information.

Before think about monetize think about good content to give them, before you take - you have to give

I suggest you to enroll to plr, mmr - club and collect good content about Dogs - then send them for help them in their Dogs. Then you will have more trust - and better conversion

Before the first promotional email is sent they receive an ebook, and approximately 8 emails of pure content. It's not just promo from day one.

A challenge to the advice that your should send "content" and "offers" when you are building a list.

If your emails a clearly a pitch then many receivers may not be too happy about that. But if you can write seductive emails that "point to" or "suggest" a value add solution AND people love reading your emails you will never have to make a distinction.

Does the pure content have any links to the content or is the content in the email? You want to get your list used to clicking.

Maybe find a product that you can sell through Clickbank?

I am sure that you can find some with upsells.

Since I haven't seen anyone discuss it yet, you really need to start segmentation campaign and go ahead and create a few list segments that break down your subscribers into the right buckets.

For instance, if everyone is currently in one big list, you might create a list that has a short series with content in it that also has a "Loss Leader" or "Tripwire" in each message. You could literally price it at $1 if you want to. It's mainly to determine who the buyer are and who they're not.

If anyone purchases the $1 offer, use a list automation rule to remove them from your general list once they make a purchase.

Moving on, I would create a simple one-question survey to send out that maybe breaks down their interest into a more targeted set of niches around the Dog's health. Maybe ask what type of allergy their pet suffers from the most (i.e. - Food, Skin, etc.). Once they indicate their answer, take them to a SPECIFIC LIST that gives them an ebook or other content around how they answered.

These certainly are not the only things you can do, but before you just cast a wide net to monetize a list that is not used to be solicited, I would segment them out first.

    Hopefully this can help you

Note: Even if you are allowed on Amazon, direct linking from an email to an amazon product is strictly prohibited and may ban your amazon associates account.

Try clickbank and search for a relevant product..

You can also search google using the keyword "dog alergies + affiliate program", something like that... Just make sure that whatever you promote,it is somehow related or relevant to the ebook because that's why people signed up to your list.

    Good Luck,
    Rob

    PetSmart has an affiliate network.

I have no idea on the sales percentage for affiliates.

They claim to have over 10,000 pet products.

FYI, medium size pet carriers apparently sell like crazy. Check out the sales data on Amazon.
