hey everyone!

just wanted to get some advice :-)

im looking to open my first ever blog and after doing some research about how i can monetize it etc etc its given me a brain freeze haha,

my niche will be in the fitness and health industry.

just wondering, after someone opts-in to my email list how or what do i go on and do from there? i understand i should use Mailchimp and the autoresponder feature but i literally have no clue about what to write on the autoresponder.

any tips will be great help.

id also like some tips on how i can drive traffic to my blog. im looking to use twitter, instagram, facebook ads to get traffic but is there any other places you recommend? as well as what i can sell to my list of subscribers.

i do apologise if these are stupid questions, im a total newbie in the blogging/email marketing world and id love to get some advice and words of wisdom from you amazing people.

many thanks and looking forward to reading your replies and answering back.

In your autoresponders you should first try to convert your subscribers to customers, offering them a product for a really good price. After that you should send offers of your products or affiliate products you can find online. In general, this is the way to monetize your email list. To be sure that your subscribers don't feel they are spammed, I would suggest you send them a weekly newsletter with free quality info and links to your latest posts.

Social media are the main source of traffic. If you SEOptimize your posts, you might start getting some free traffic after a while, but generally, your main source of traffic should be the social media.

My first piece of advice is to target a narrow niche. the "fitness and health industry" is a very wide range. Is it weight loss? weight loss for women? is it training to run? is it training to compete in tri-athlons? is it strength training? Is it high intensity strength training? See what I mean? There are many topics and one blog cannot and should not try to cover them all so decide on the specific target audience.

And the best way IMO to get a lot of questions answered and to research topics on this forum is to make use of the search feature and research various topics such as blog posting, traffic from social media, facebook ads, etc.

You will find lots of useful information that way, generally much more that asking a general question. Best of luck to you!

      Hey

I was thinking of doing the whole fitness and health niche in one whole blog. Would you suggest i open multiple blogs and do it that way instead if i want to cover other parts of the health and fitness niche.

Thanks for your responses, do you think i should set up my autoresponder emails before i start building my list? Also, how many autoresponder emails shall i make? Ill be looking to send 1x autoresponder email a week aswell as 1x email sent out to everyone like a newsletter sort of thing or do you recommend i just focus on autoresponder for now and then do the newsletter later when i have a certain amount of subscribers.

    Thanks

No, 1 autoresponder a week is the wrong way to go. Make an autoresponder series for the first 2 weeks after they subscribe, and send once every week or month your Newsletter and as many times as you want offers linking back to either affiliate products or your products.

Hey mark, thanks for your advice. When you say make an autoresponder response for 1st two weeks do you mind 1 for each day? And then do 1 a week and send newsletter however many times i want linking back to affiliate products.

      Many thanks

As I mentioned I think that trying to cover everything about health and fitness is far to broad a topic to have in of interest to people. People will have an interest in only specific aspects and that is what you should be targeting. IMO that approach will be more effective.
