My first emailing marketing experience (Made first affiliate sale)

Hi,

Wanted to share a short story about my first email marketing journey I did awhile back. As you know everyone has heard of 'the money is in the list' so I decided to have a crack at it. I did started this a few months back and haven't really touched it since. Wanted to share this with people who still believe it is impossible to make money online. Keeping this plain and simple....

So here we go...

Breaking this down into three sections offer/ traffic/ conversions.

Offer:

Spent like 3 days trying to figure out the niche i wanted to dive into. I'm really into weight loss and fitness so i started with that. I sort to narrow down my niche so what I did is I went through Amazon, google and clickbank to find a niche that had potential selling power. In the end I chose weight loss for moms, I chose 7-15 hot topics also around the niche for my email topics also. I chose two clickbank offers that were fairly popular in that niche and promoted them front end and back end.

Traffic:

I wont dive into my exact source of traffic, but my budget that I had on ad traffic was $250 and it got me around 800-1000 subs. What I did is I created a small ad for desktop and mobile and turned on my traffic tap and ran it for a 2 weeks. Most of my subs came from mobile. I was getting around 120-170 mobile subs per day and 20-40 desktop.

Conversions:

I didn't have a website I just had an email list and emailed them, I setup my email sequence to email my subscribers everyday for 15 days. I wanted to see which emails performed the best. From the first email I would sell them. Most of my emails would sell to my list. In the first week I made sales! (this was my first affiliate sale which got me excited!! ) The sales I made were from sending my first initial email sending them directly to the product.

Right now I haven't really checked up on it anymore, nor do I run anymore traffic to it. It was more of a case study for myself to see firsthand if affiliate marketing worked. I'm now working on something similar and more long term. I still have the list and can still message them other offers/products.

If I could change something I would practice on copy writing, how to write engaging emails to keep my subs edging for more, it could potentially make me recurring buyers. Also be more crucial about my niche selection. Really nail down on a profitable niche.

I can see the potential of email marketing, I'm looking at building a blog around a specific topic and building my list that way. Then creating a relationship with that list. I feel having a website creates more credibility.

Thank you!, I can see some good potential into paleo. Although I'm not very passionate about it, there's just something about weight loss that I love so I'm trying to find a narrow niche within weight loss.

It could be your traffic source?

It was the first time I had used this traffic source and I made my first sale on the third day.

The person who I got this traffic source from had made 3-4 sales within his first 3 days which equaled to around $200 in commission.

So traffic source experiences can vary but I feel I didn't do too bad for my first time. Could've done some tweaks here and there to make it more profitable.

Hi, so I advertised the product in my ad. I took some text straight from the ad and used before and after photos shower a woman's weight loss.

I don't want to give too much away, but once they clicked on my ad they were automatically signed up to my email newsletter and they automatically received my first initial email which was basically a sell email sending them straight to the product.

In the first week I made sales! (this was my first affiliate sale which got me excited!! )
How many sales? Were you in profit?

Why would you spend time building a system that worked and then not check on it any more? If you were getting sales, why not scale it up and make more sales?

      It was my first experience.

I didn't quite set my system right. After it was all said and done I realized a few things I should've improved on.

In the end I got a subscribers for 0.20c.

Made 2 sales in one week. But I've still got my list. Although I'd like to start fresh again.

      Hi,

I used products from clickbank to promote. They were digital products in the women's weight loss niche.

Hey, good job and congratulations on making your first sale.

    I'm into affiliate marketing too.

Can I check what ad are you referring to? PPC? Solo Ad? or Facebook?

Will be great if you can share which method you use to drive traffic.

    Cheers.

      Hi Victor,

I don't want to share my exact traffic method but I can say that every time that someone clicked my ad they were automatically added to my list. So you could say it was something similar to PPC but not exactly. It's not a new method of driving traffic but I don't hear anyone talking about it here.

Remember that there are real people behind those numbers, affiliate marketing works because you offer a good product to a interested customer- It's no rocket science or magic. Make sure to not spam your subs, choose your offers wisely. best of luck

Mate - you're onto something here!

SCALE IT THE **** UP. If you really got a quality subscriber (T1) for 20 ct that's incedible. Put some more dollars into that machine and keep us updated. It'd be very interesting to see, how that plays out over time!

    GOOD JOB!

    Now for scale it up:

    - create your infoproduct : outsource it if u dont want to write it. Go to upwork.

    - Sign up another account to clickbank and submit there your infoproduct. (why another account? cause if u sell it with the account you have, it boosts your GRAVITY and more people will sell it on your behalf)

    - put more money in the traffic method you use.

I also suggest you to SELL your traffic method to another IM list u can make. That's your really goldmine, not paleo.
