First email marketing campaign questions

Hi guys,

I'm about to send my first email marketing campaign using mailchimp. I have a small list and want to start sending out blog updates. My plan is to use mailchimp for the first 2000 subscribers and then switch to Aweber. What are some tips to stay out of a subscribers spam box? After researching, I feel comfortable with my planned emails, but am worried most will hit users spam boxes.

One tip is to look at the spam score your autoresponder assesses your email at before sending each email. In the beginning, aim for a 0 score for a while to establish yourself.

Another is to delete people who don't open your email.

    High quality data
    High quality offer or info
    High quality engagement
If your engagement sucks, your going to get spamboxed or perm blocked.
You should also consider using a paid account.

Just make sure with mailchimp you don't promote or have any links to affiliate products.

  • Clearly email marketing deserves your time and attention. And like any aspect of marketing, there can be a learning curve to discover the ins and outs and best practices. Hopefully these answers to ten of the most common and important email questions can make the learning curve a little less steep.

    1. How do I grow my email list?

Often, when I’m browsing the web, I’ll come across a blog with a stunning newsletter subscription form, boasting thousands of subscribers. I’m kinda jealous.

    Create an offer
Any piece of quality content will do. Build an e-book out of a series of blog posts. Put together an e-mail course. Then once you have your offer, ask folks for an email address in order to access the content.
Sites like Copyblogger have been highly successful at growing their list this way. Here is an example from the sidebar of the Copyblogger blog, teasing both free e-books and a free marketing course.

you should reassess your email before sending,
should not place any advertising or links in gmail stop so that they see it as spam.

Thanks guys. Which autoresponder would you recommend for me? Aweber or getresponse? I plan on sending about 80 percent engagement emails and about 20 percent affilliate emails. I got 84 subscribers in my first week so my list is growing pretty fast.
