Why doesn't anyone really customise landing pages?

It's really common in email marketing to see variations of "Hi <name>," in emails, along with whatever other information we can glean from the person.

What I find strange is that this seems to end once the user clicks through to the landing page. It'd pretty easy to add customisation to the landing page through GET parameters, so there's no reason the LP couldn't greet them by name as well.

Why doesn't anybody do it? Is it too creepy for most users? Or have I just totally missed a really common trick?

This would be awesome to trial actually... but won't lie - I'd be creeped out if it was a landing page of a product I've never signed into or provided my information to. Would be fun to test
