Regarding Aweber Paypal issue - paypal id getting added into aweber list

I want to ask regarding adding members to different lists in aweber... Below is the scenario:

Assume, there are 2 pages (optin page , oto page). After User got subscribed in optin page, then he will be immediately redirected to oto-page. And I have 2 lists (list1 and list2) in aweber for each page.

So, when he got subscribed on optin page, he will be added to list1, then after he makes a purchase using paypal in oto-page, he will get unsubscribed from list1 and get subscribed automatically to list2. This is how I made setup using aweber automation rules.

In above, the problem is: Assume if a user uses different mail ids for each pages, he will be into 2 lists, which I do not want to happen...How to avoid this issue?

In oto-page, whatever the user uses his paypal id, paypal id is getting added into list2 which should not happen since this is not the mail id he used to subscibe for optin page..

But if a user uses same mail id for both pages, then there will be no prob at all, since he will be moved automatically to list2..

Please somehow try to understand my query above and pls provide me any great solution..

Aweber automation is terrible, outdated and buggy.

If your customer is using two email addresses then Aweber has no way of knowing, at least from what I can tell.

Other solutions have more sophisticated automations, for example *I think* Active Campaign tracks on more than just their email address - they can follow prospects around your site and trigger automations based on action they take (like hitting a purchase confirmation page).

I'm still getting to grips with everything it can do, but having moved most of my lists over to AC recently I can tell you that Aweber is severely limited.

They have good support though, so they might know if it's possible.

Few queries about Active Campaign :

          1) How about deliveriality rate? does all mails goes to inbox immediately?

          2) whatever the query asked above, will it work for AC?

          3) How about getresponse compare with Active campaign..? which is best option to chose?

and Thanks again for your suggestions

            1. It's very good.

            2. I think so.

            3. It depends on your business. If you're heavily into affiliate marketing, stay away from Active Campaign. But if you provide high value content and want a CRM that comes close to InfusionSoft without the price tag, Active Campaign is the way to go.

If you're heavily into affiliate marketing, stay "away from Active Campaign" -- May I know why? Does AC restricts Affiliate Marketing?

Hi Michael, are you using active campaign for online business niche? we want to move away from aweber but we're not sure if AC allows online business niche. we don't sell affiliate products, only our own products.

let me know how's your experience

I am not sure what you are using for processing your sales, but I know that JVzoo and Warriorplus ask where you want your info sent so it is that email that gets added to the sellers list and not the paypal email

Then you might want to contact Paypal support and ask them if there is a way to do what you want.

Assuming these are your lists and your oto page, then maybe a checkbox with the question "use same subscription email to avoid duplicate confirmation?" That might go a long way to accurately segregating your lists.
PayPal may not know what email the purchaser used to subscribe, so probably not much help there.
Also, in your subscription confirmation email, you might say something like "Thankyou for subscribing to blah blah. If you have taken advantage of that great oto, you may safely unsubscribe from this mailing to avoid duplicate content."
Communicate with the subscriber/purchaser in whatever friendly persona you want. It sounds like you want to build trusting customer lists.
    Good luck.

I don't think there is a great solution. Subscribing with multiple addresses always creates problems for list segmentation. Maybe you could set the rules to segment based on another input? Do you ask for anything other than email when someone subscribes to list 1?

If not, I think this problem will take care of itself when paying customers simply unsubscribe from list 1.
