Looking For a Subs-Based Mailing List Service

Hi All

I have been searching hi and low for a subs-based mailing list provider that requires customers to pay a recurring monthly subscription to be on the list. The list can then be used to mail offers, etc. I only need something basic, like in the 'Good 'Ol Days', but despite my best efforts I cannot find anything things that comes close, except club membership software which does not seem suitable.

Seeing as I am thinking of testing an idea, it doesn't make sense to invest a large amount of capital initially and I don't really want to upgrade my shared web hosting solution until the idea is proved. The way I see it working is...
  1. Customer visits website, enters email and hits 'subscribe'.
  2. Customer is redirected to payment gateway & fills in card info, etc.
  3. Email address is added to mailing list after successful payment completed.

This solution wouldn't require a double-optin in my view as they have paid to be on the list. Only bulk e-mail sending up to 8 times per month to the entire list is required and the list itself will hold only a limited number of subscribers (ie. max. 10,000). Time-based auto-responders, etc. are not required, but mail stats would be advantageous.

I have been looking at API integrations with solutions such as Stripe and list providers like MailChimp and the like, but this would mean that I would need to upgrade to a virtual server and code a complete solution from the site - not impossible, but a lot of work to just test an idea.

Any input would be most welcome.

    So, after even more research I have finally found 2 viable options - here they are:
    1. CampaignZee
    2. MoonClerk

    Campaignzee is a bolt-on to MailChimp, but seeing as MailChimp pricing is not the cheapest for what I need, this wouldn't be my first choice.

    However, there is no extra work to be done and it plugs straight into Stripe, which is my preferred payment gateway.

    MoonClerk has a bit of a strange name but delivers what I need. It plugins into Stripe payment gateway and many other major list providers such as Aweber, MailChimp and other popular higher-ticket list solutions. It does seem to have an API, so it should be possible to plug into another list service such as MailerLite (currently my preferred for this project), but will require the extra work to do so.

    I think I will be looking closer at these 2 solutions initially, unless I can find another that requires no additional coding work.

    Hope this info helps anybody who is looking for a similar solution.

    It seems it will do what you want with PayPal and Aweber.

    They also have a way to tie in with Stripe via Zapier.

      Hi Mark

      I didn't come across this when I looked a Aweber! Yep, this may be an option indeed. The only issue I have with Aweber is the high pricing. But it does come down to the time it would take to implement a solution also.
