How can I ensure that my emails don't end up in spam folder?

please, how can i ensure that my emails don't end up in the spam folder? if i should send mails to "unsubscribed" emails i.e the mails i manually added to my mailing list.

i currently have some emails with me but not my subscriber.

will it work with some mailing system? or i should not border sending mail to them at all? if the mails will end up in the spam/junk box.

pls, i need your opinion and advice on this.

thanks!

Where did you get those emails? You want to start fresh, with eager subs, to avoid being labeled as spam. Send out helpful emails, solve probs, be genuine in wanting to help others with free content.

i wrote the emails from sign boards in my area here. and get others from social media accounts.

i am about to run a car classified site. therefore, the mail would purely centers on the opportunity of classified ads to be placed on my website and secondly to send out emails to potential classified ads visitors.

your response, please. your advice on this?

If your mail is going to the spam folders, you need to look at the following...

Back-end setup: spf, dkim, rdns, etc...
IP / domain reputation: any domain / IP that is associated with the mailing. Also test username.
Content: everything in the message body / mailing address, subject line, plus your template.

You need to test everything step-by-step and isolate the problem and fix it.

You ideally want to know the domain makeup of your list(s) and create seed accounts for the domains with the highest percentage of users. Then use the seeds to test your inbox placement before sending your message.

For many, AOL, Hotmail/Outlook, Gmail, Yahoo and parent domains using the same mx, can makeup as much as 85-90% of their list. So at the very least, you should start with them and any other seed accounts you can set up or acquire.

For small domains / GI, which it's just not possible to get accounts for, you could set up spamassassin with razor and pyzor add-ons and use it to test with. These domains combined will typically makeup 10% or less of your list.

      thanks a lot.

the domain make up of my list are gmail and yahoomail. but, they don't actually subscribed to my list, but i manually copied their emails from the social medias and from sign-boards here in my area. And that is why i was very concern of if the mails sent to them could end upin the spam box.

please, your advice on this pls. thanks !

Instead of manually adding to your mailing list, you could make an optin page. Then send an individual, personal email to invite that person to join your email list by subscribing - and give the link to your optin page. I'm assuming the emails are people you know who will recognize an email from your personal email account. If not, skip this...

You can use mail-tester.com and isnotspam.com to test your emails. For gmail you can use litmus.com/gmail-tabs as well.

Avoiding spam filters is a science in itself.

Adding to what DIABLO said, you also want to make sure your email contents is not recognised as spam. There are spam trigger words, there is image to text ratio, there is the number of links in your emails, there's formatting and a lot more to be taken into account ...
Then there's the sending reputation of your IPs or whatever IPs you use for sending email.
An Autoresponder service like aweber or an smtp service like amazon ses will get the job done pretty well, but with aweber you cannot just import any list and with ses you need some mailing app like mailwizz and amazon will close you down pretty quickly if you're using dubious mail practises.

For some of my lists I use mailchimp and import email addresses I collect offline. It was never a problem yet. This is music industry though. I don't know if mailcimp allows imports for every industry or niche.

It does. I've done many imports in many different niches, without any problem.

    1. Start with your list. Do not go for purchased lists. Build your email list using double opt-in.
    2. Send valuable emails.
    3. Make sure your emails pass the email authentication process.

As with anything else, write good quality emails and non-spammy headlines. I use mail-tester.com to check, but it's not 100%. Still, it's saved me a few times from sending out emails with headlines that would have landed in the spam box.

    Four main things to consider.

    1. What is the source of the data? If they don't know you then you'll get spam marked then won't inbox.

    2. Content of the emails? Are you pushing pay day loans and Viagra?

    3. Server config, are all your rDNS and keys etc up correctly?

    4. IP reputation. Are you sharing an up address with spammers or have you spammed from it in the past?

We all know the data that is being gathered and analyzed by the 'big guys' is expansive.
One (just one) thing to consider is the actual open rate of the emails.

When people actually open and read an email, it provides credibility to the sender...
Believe it or not, up to you... I'd suggest that concentrating on those things that make people actually want to open and read the emails.
