Amazon SES

I have been having lots of issues with AWS lately. Whenever I set up an aws account and ask for SES limits increase, it is either denied or moved back to sandbox after a while. The most troublesome thing is SES moving back in sandbox. Anyone else experienced this issue? What could be the possible fix?

P.S. This is what I get after the production access is granted.

Hello,

We regret to inform you that after a thorough review of your account we have decided to remove production access for Amazon SES in AWS Region US East (N. Virginia). Your account has subsequently been returned to the sandbox and you are not able to send externally to any address that has not been verified. We have determined that your use of Amazon SES may adversely impact our services. For further information about our policies, please review our Acceptable Use Policy and Service Terms:

  • Your complaint rate is likely over the accepted amount of 0.1%.
Or you may be hitting spam traps or other bad emails in your lists.
Maybe your hard bounce rate is over 5%.
All of these factors could be causing your accounts to be limited.

    • I havent even sent a single email using SES but still it got moved back in sandbox.
  • Then why did you request limit increases if your not even using your current capacity.
That does not make a lot of sense does it...

    • it was in the sandbox, thats why. You just cant send emails to normal email addresses when an SES account is in sandbox. In order to move it out of sandbox limits, a request has to be made to AWS.

  • Did you enter your homepage or any webpage link? If so, the content of that webpage may be the issue. I never entered a website when I asked for sending limit to be removed. A lot of people who entered webpages got the same issue as you.
I haven't been using ses for quite some time now, but I also heard that getting approved for production is very hard nowadays.
Just anything can trigger their flags.

Review their accepted use policies and try to find what you might be doing that raises their flags
  • If you put an IM website in their system they will limit you
