Looking for an Email Service Provider similar to MailChimp but allows for cold email outreach

Hi folks,

We do a lot of cold email outreach and we're not looking to be spammy but we do want to be able to send emails without risk of being suspended from a service like MailChimp.

It's important we be able to track who opens emails, how often, what links they click on, and also provide the ability for them to unsubscribe.

Can anybody either recommend an all-in-one solution to MailChimp or an SMTP relay service that will allow us to do cold outreach?

Our mailing lists have thousands of email addresses so connecting to something like Gmail will not be sufficient.

Thanks in advance!

Are you doing B2B or B2C?

I've been monetizing B2C data for over 16 years, but little when it comes to B2B.

For B2B the only company I know of is B2B Lead Generation Software Solutions | Clickback

I don't think any exist for B2C and any that do exist, I would be concerned about deliverability.

With B2C most all ESPs won't allow it. They also have no idea how your data was collected. So it comes down to cleaning the data and mitigating excessive complaints, so your data performs in line with their standards.

You mentioned that your lists are in the thousands...how big exactly? Thousands are not what I would consider big and there may be a better solution.

    • I own a small digital agency that builds lists and does outreach for our clients. We've grown this side of our business enough that we need to find a scalable solution that we can rely on because it brings our clients great results but the fear of account suspension is real.

We have teams of VAs in the Philippines that are able to harvest around 200 targeted emails per day per VA so our lists grow pretty quickly (depending on the client retainer size, we typically add around 200 - 1,000 validated email leads to a list per day).

I'd say the average list has around 10,000 emails on it but those grow pretty quickly.

These are all B2Bs leads and are extremely targeted and we provide lots of value in our emails and in our very first email we make it very easy for people to unsubscribe giving them a big button after introducing the reason we're reaching out.

By doing this, we keep our spam reports down to a minimum but our unsubscribes are higher than what solutions like MailChimp like to see.

I checked out Clickback but it appears to be built for people who are purchasing lists from them which we have no need for.

You are doing things the right way by using VA's and highly target / validate.

If you problem is your unsubscribe rate, then run your own unsubscribe link/script instead of or in addition to the ESPs.

Make yours the first they see and more obvious.

This will drastically cut down the unsubscribe requests the ESP records through their link.

    • Well i use sendlane it costs only 10$ per month
Their website very clearly says you're not allowed to use imported contacts and require you to work with their compliance team for any lists you import to make sure your list is within their rules.

Have you considered setting up your own server to send out the cold emails, and then take the openers and clickers and move them into your esp account?

It's looking like that's what I'm going to have to do. Hopefully I can throw an SMTP server up on the cloud so I don't have to have a physical server in place.

This is my first real venture into cold email outreach in this volume...I didn't realize it was something that no real business wants any piece of but I understand why.

I mean sure, you should be able to throw a VPS or Dedicated Server in the cloud.
There are plenty of good reasons why ISP's dont want mailers on their networks.
Most mailing on the networks are prone to abuse and hurt their ips and reputation.
There are also plenty of places that can assist you in setting up your own servers.

If it does not fall under self promotion, I would recommend you BulkResponse. This is our niche, we work with customers who are facing issues with other ESPs like mailchimp and aweber. I apologize mods if this sounds self promoting but question was directly addressed to our niche

Sendgrid offer decent deliverability for larger volumes and can connect to outreach software via smtp. Software options include quickmail, klenty and a bunch of others that are overpriced yet offer pretty much the same thing. For b2b use GSuite and use several domains as its got the best deliverability.
