How to monetize a 5k email list in rice niche

Hello warriors.
I have a big email list of rice buyers and sellers. I want to monetize this list but have no idea what to do with it to get the best results.
FYI: I'm a web developer and expert in website design but I don't know how to make a link between my services and this list. I'm open to your ideas even if they're not related to my services though.
I wait for your great suggestions.
Thanks in advance

I am not an expert at all in email marketing, but from what I've surmised is that you could make a newsletter or similar mailing. As often as you think appropriate without being seen as a spammer. Maybe one or two interesting html articles about rice, which they could read on your site. Include links for discounts or to buy things. Possibly find people to sponsor it. Anything that they would find of interest. I'm thinking that you've already got a great site that they visit regularly, which you've already monetized well. If so, draw them back to that via your email.

This is my main issue. I don't know what I can sell them in this industry.

The old technique doesn't work anymore.

What is the "rice niche?" Doesn't sound like a "niche," to me. I mean, how many people buy rice? It's kind of like saying you have a list in the "toilet paper niche," because your subscribers buy toilet paper.

rice is a kind of food used in Asia and other countries. The list includes emails of rice sellers and rice buyers.

I think your irony was lost on the OP....so I'll try to clarify it.

'People who eat rice' is no more of a niche than 'people who eat food'

'People who want to create exquisite Asian sweet dishes using sticky rice'
      ....that is a niche

'People who want to make delicious and healthy dishes with brown rice'
      That could be a niche

I'm not sure you could make a lot of money selling to those niches, but I know
you'd have far more chance than just thinking that 'people who eat/sell/buy rice' have anything at all in common that would group them together sufficiently to be called a niche.

      Amazon has a niche.

Their niche is people who want to buy stuff online from a reputable company who provide a large range of products at reasonable prices with quick delivery...oh....erm
I guess that must be a pretty big niche.

But to reiterate, 'people who are interested in rice' is not a niche.

Have you looked at other websites that are in your niche? This may give a clue to products and services that are being promoted. You could also if they have opt in boxes join their lists and see what they send to you. This would be free intelligence gathering.

what are the needs of the people on your list?

    what do rice buyers need?

    what do rice sellers need?

once you know that - and you might need to survey your list . . .
You can find out what you can sell them or how to monetize it . .

I hope your list is legit, i mean people have opted in.

Assuming it, it's easy to answer.

Take a good autoresponder, import that list, and promote affiliate offers realted to rice recipe, vegan recipe, etc.

You can easily find them on clickbank.

Or also book on amazon, products on a lot of affiliate marketplace.

They are wholesalers. They buy/sell containers of rice. And yes, the list is legit.

5,000 people specifically interested in buying or selling rice opted in to receive emails from a web developer? Not buying it.

You might not understand but its only not spam when the members on the list signed up to get emails FROM YOU.

The fact they opted in for someone or something else isn't the issue.

What am I missing? Surely if you have a legitimate list of rice buyers and those that sell the same commodity then the simplest way to make money from your list is to introduce the buyers to the sellers for a percentage of any deal.

Thank you for your response. This is the old technique but is not suitable. I'm going to advertise my own services (web development) to them. Do you have any idea?
