Multiple welcome e-mails depending on the group joined not working

Hi,

I have a problem with mailchimp. I have multiple, multiple free courses on my blog. What I did is I associated a different group to every opt-in form.

The problem is that I need a different welcome e-mail for every group, because it contains a different course. I created separate campaigns for every group but the welcome e-mail is sent only for the first chosen opt-in. So if you want to opt-in for, let's say 4 courses, you only receive the first one. For the 3 ones left you're just added to the group in my list...

I could create multiple lists, but mailchimp charges you based on subscribers count. So for 4 lists 2000 subscribes would count for 8000, it's a huge waste of money so I'm trying to use groups. I don't know why it's not working, though!

Do you have any idea why is that?

    Hey. I understand how frustrating this can be, and I would honestly advise you to contact Mailchimp for further help.

    However, as someone who has been email marketing for a really long time, here's how I would tackle this issue.

    You mentioned that you could have different lists, with different opt-in forms, but don't want to have duplicate subscribers, right?

    Is there an option to "eliminate" subscribers from one list if they join the other?

    I've been experimenting with AWeber since around 2010ish, and I know for a fact they have this automated feature.

    To be brutally honest, I'm not sure if Mailchimp offers this feature, however, would like to think that they do.

    That way, you could use different lists, you could split test each opt-in form to see which one gets the best opt-in rates, and you won't have to worry about the awkwardness of having one subscriber on potentially many different lists lol.

    So, please check to see if Mailchimp has an "automated trigger" to remove duplicates across many different lists as they subscribe?

    Just my humble two cents, and I truly wish you the best...

      I found an easier solution. Mailchimp and Aweber charge for multiple subscribers but I figured, there must be some e-mail autoresponder providers that don't.

      After extensive research I found ConvertKit and ActiveCampaign. Initially I wanted to go with ConvertKit because I really like their intuitive automation interface 'If...then...' BUT

      1) Their e-mails are text only with is acceptable because it's good for g-mail. Plain text messages land directly in 'Primary Tab' I checked this and it worked. Any photos/videos added make the e-mail land in 'promotion' tab.

      2) No split testing !!!! That was a big no no for me so I went with ActiveCampaign and I must say I'm very happy with it for now.

      It has more advanced automation than Aweber. And in couple of days I already almost finished 4 automations (one for each lead magnet) thanks to ready templates.

      All for 9€/month. I'm happy I took an entire day of research to find something so adapted for my needs.

      But thank you for your input

      I'm just worried about people downloading all 4 lead magnets and receiving 4 campaigns at the same time. I'd have to find an automation to do it so a prospective only receives the first mail with the link to my course, but doesn't receive the followup e-mails if he's already in one of my campaigns.

      Damn, it's more complicated than I believed it would be.
